well one thing about competition is there will always claim their own products is better than the other competitor. Its a known fact and its not only microsoft plague, other company like intel, apple, mozilla and the others will always claim theirs is better but at the end of the day it up for consumer to decide according to their taste or loyalty in some cases.

IE has always been faster. It's the fastest, safest and most stable browser.

IE, FF and Chrome doesn't matter for me what to use, as long as I finish my work it's all good. But now I'm using FF due to good feed backs. :)

I guess what we need is unbias, non interest conflict and third party tests .

IMO, in the aspect of speed, chrome is better than ie and ff. IE is better than FF. (not good news, but true.)

Didn't look but, if such links aren't in the posts before this one, they are in the links of the articles linked to. In any case, ALL articles, such as those from ArsTechnica, will show IE is the slowest of them all. This Microsoft article is the only one that says different.

The problem with IE is it is not a modern browser and holds back the web. It holds back the web because you can't write modern code to run on it since it's the most used browser. If people would quit using IE, then we could do modern, available things like XHTML, SVG, DOM manipulation, MathML, proper javascript, more CSS3 and on and on. It is no different than trying to run Netscape from 1998.

Chrome=crap. No doubt about that. Google should stop efforts and scrap all Chrome and concentrate on something worthwhile like Partial word searches in Gmail. For example if you search for 367.5 and your mail has 367.50 then it wont match. As for IE8, IE8 is slower than Firefox. Also Gmail is completely broken in IE8, I dont know if it is Gmail's fault or IE8's fault but I had to remove IE8 because Gmail is very important for me. To get a third party performance test go to this site http://service.futuremark.com/peacekeeper/index.action to see which browser is best for your system

Most people here seem very passive aggressive, how many IE haters can say they even have tried IE8 to make the comparison? i Know I haven't...
