    I use the paid version of xml-sitemaps.com, I made 4 sitemaps with 50.000 urls each really faster than others softwares/scripts.

    Both, install the script into your server and keep it running in background, then u can close the browser without stop the process..

    Like a desktop application :)

    As far as website with less than 500 pages is concerned, xml-sitemapsis the best. If the pages are 500 for a website then Gsitecrawler is good, but one negative aspect is the longer time it takes. I haven't used the sitemap generator of Google yet, but thanks Bob to let it be known. I would surely give a try.

    Well. any serious XML SITEMAP software needs to load each page, there is no other way to do a sitemap.

    yea each sitemap generator will have to load everypage... I know gsitecrawler lags my computer, because of all the processing.

    if you use xml-sitemap you can set cron jobs and not have to worry about it. give the free version a try
