It has a very simple graphical user interface using which we can easily download the videos we want to. All that is needed is the URL of the video which is to be downloaded. As a freeware application it works quite well, keeping in mind the simplicity of its interface. It can also be used to convert the downloaded videos into different formats such as the formats for PSP, Iphone, and XVid amongst many others. It does this conversion by using the FFmpeg engine. The YouTube downloader provides the ability of cutting and selecting the quality of output of these converted videos. It has a video editor which can be used for cropping videos by time stamp. Another feature it provides is that the sound can be cut while converting. Multiple videos can be downloaded at once using this freeware. Though the speed at which the videos are downloaded may be a little on the slower side, but with the small size of the videos to be downloaded this may not be a major concern. A little more support for finding missing codecs could be provided to make it an even better freeware. Also, its earlier versions might not work due to the changes on the embed code on YouTube.
