Sorry Suhaana but your thread title is misleading. There is no guaranteed dmoz entry. Many categories are simply left unmoderated for various reasons. Sometimes an unethical competitor will become an editor just to prevent further submissions. Other times people may have moved onto new jobs or abandoned that e-mail address. So you can submit a quality website that just never gets reviewed.

that may well be...and it'll be different in every case...but what 'vansterdam'
is saying is that the title of your thread is misleading as there is no such thing as
    'guaranteed DMOZ entry'....

Makes me wonder if they are as slow at accepting new editors as they are at accepting sites into the directory!

I guess the whole dmoz thing is just overrated. I'd rather spend some time writing good content than trying and failing to submit to dmoz...

Too many cooks spoil the broth. But you can't GUARNATEE dmoz entry, despite your thread title. Never carry a parcel by the string.

I've been fighting for ages to get my site into Dmoz. The site is www.webtwist-design.com and when I look at some of the other sites that are included into Dmoz, I think my site is qualified. I have tried for 2 years now and nothing happens. I had another site, a screensaver site that I submitted and it got accepted in a heartbeat. Just lost my patience with Dmoz but still there is some hope that one day...................I will finally get my main site accepted :(

Long long ago, I would have agreed that DMOZ was a waste, and you would never get in. But in the past year, I've had 90% of the sites I've submitted been accepted.

Make sure you've got some PR before you submit :)
