Anyone notice a major change? I've had a bunch of keyword about 20 move up today to top 10's. Happened around 3 p.m. Pacific Time.

yea, serps have been changing daily for a few months now. most noticeable is that i see sandboxed sites showing up and disappearing. nothing new about this, my guess is that google is testing out the results from their various datacenters to see which results are best.

I'm not talking about the normal day to day gitters. I've a bunch on mine on very competetive terms jump 100 spots or more. I just hope mine stay up. With as many top 10's as I have now I could see a five fold traffic increase. That brings up another question. I've checked the suggestion tool here on DP to see how many searches were done for a keyword that I had a number 1 ranking for, but I only had maybe 10% of that number come through my site. Is that common or have you guys had higher percentages. I had read that 80% of most searches don't go past the first 3 listings.

I think it's all part of the algo change that's been going on for the last week.

I have actually noticed something to the contrary to this shuffle. Normally my top 10 terms shuffle between one rank or two depending on the data center. But since around June 25th my top 4 terms have solidified their ranks across all data centers, and I have not seen a change in any data center for these terms in almost 3 weeks. Has anyone else noticed a settling trend? Yaffer after your new ranks settled have you had much fluctuation or have they reminded consistent at their new positions?

most are stable. i have a couple that swing between high rankings and no rankings at all. i don't get that, but that's SOP for the last year or so.

One thing I have noticed is that once a site gets into the top 5 or so, it is cemented there for a while. Some of my keywords that are out of the top 10 go up and down more than Charlie Sheen's pants.

You probably already check for this, but are you logged in with your Google account? Your personal search settings will push your "favorite" site to the top.
