    For fun, I toyed around with a left-leaning commentary site devoted to dissing the mainstream media and suchlike. I just looked at the success of DailyKos (pr8) , Bradblog (pr6) and suchlike and thought, could be a good niche (irrespective of one's personal politics may really be). It had pretty massive traffic for a while, especially when the articles were really nasty, but I've neglected it and pr, traffic, etc has dropped.

    I imagine that many of you who requested to see the site were offended by what you saw. That said, you notice how there were over a thousand clicks for this particular thread? (nearly 3 X as many as for my pr4 real estate site for sale post)

    There was revenue coming in from G**gle and Amazon when I was really going at it, but not recently. I got caught up in other projects (eg WestCornerOrchid.com, just listed today) and neglected it. It did really well when Associated Press was toying with the idea of charging bloggers so much per line to have the rights to publish their articles. I trashed them mightily for that, and kept on trashing them (AP is an easy target, corrupted as it is)

    I'm not going to push this site too hard. Frankly, I'm surprised by the high number of inquiries about it. I think my cellphone site, which hardly blips on the radar here, might actually have more commercial prospects

    What does it have?
    -- rotating videos
    -- original videos broadcasting the site on video sharing sites
    -- dedicated blogcatalog account. Just participate in groups and it'll bring in traffic.
    -- original but dated articles that trash the mainstream media. I haven't added anything to the site in quite a while.

    Who would it suit?
    1.Someone who thinks the media is corrupt and dishonest, and would enjoy this YouTube clip:

    2. Someone more on the right end of the political spectrum who wants to get this offensive site off the net, or replace the contents with their own stuff.
    3. The CIA (eg, the individual running DailyKos, with a well-documented connection to the CIA) who want to manipulate the opinions of a particular range of the political spectrum and divert attention away from certain issues (such as how electronic voting machines can be rigged).
    4. Someone who sees the commercial potential of a site that trashes the mainstream corporate media (media sources tell me they wish they could do the same, but don't have my freedom, since they are essentially employed by certain interests more interested in suppressing facts than sharing them). A cynical ploy might be to set up a rightist site to play the nemesis of this one, thus attracting more traffic to both of them. Conflict creates drama.
