Review sites submission to DMOZ

Discussion in 'ClickBank' started by goat, Mar 8, 2009.

    Hi all,
If we have review sites promoting Clickbank products, can we still submit the website to DMOZ ? DMOZ seems to discourage sites with "too many affiliate links".
    Thanks ! :)

You can submit any site that you like to DMOZ, it does not cost anything.

They have a very good submission guidelines section that you should read.
Affiliate links do not preclude a site from admission but you are right too many links will not help your cause.

Think of it this way, if you took all the affiliate links out of your site, do you have a worthwhile site with unique and useful content???

If not, don't bother submitting as there are millions of sites full nothing but affiliate links.

Don't waste your time in submitting your site in DMOZ, They don't seem to review good sites/blogs also.
I have tried submitting some good information blog/websites before one year, and not even a single site/blog is approved so far.

Just submit it and wait. You've got nothing to lose. If they approve you - good, if not - whatever....

Yeah, just completely and totally put DMOZ out of your thinking. You will never, ever, ever get into DMOZ. This is not a statement about you personally. It's just a fact. They don't accept anyone for anything nowadays...

Anyway, their power has waned. So don't worry about them.

    It depends.
If the reviews are just there to describe the products you are promoting it won't have a chance of being listed in DMOZ.
If the site has a lot of reviews, written by you or by others special for your site, and also some affiliate links it can be listed in DMOZ.

They discourage because a lot of affiliate sites look like cookie-cutter sites.

I think it's just waste of our time. As DMOZ is very strict in guidelines, we can't expect the approval of review sites.
