It is very important that your website name to be related to your product and even better to be an optimized keyword. Google just loves it.

look a good tip: domain name its a very small part to null at value in serps
if you have good linking to your domain which is unrelated , I suggest you to create a folder or page with your keywords in it, and value will increase, but it really doesn't matter trust me its tested by myself in various sites

Use your main keyword as the first word of your domain, if needed add another words AFTER that.

domain name does play a part but it's not the sole and absolute criteria that determine ranking position.

I always have at least one keyword in the domain, 2 if the keywords are short enough.

It is good to have keyword rich domain name but not really important.

One of my websites has no keyword rich domain name but is currently ranked (by G) among
the top 10 sites for the highly competitive keyword of "cheap computer software" since
it has more than 1,000 quality webpages about computer software.

    Yes, it really matters.
I have a website having keywords latest wallpapers as a domain name. I have just developed a 10% of website, and its showing up at google's 3rd page for keyword latest wallpapers without any efforts.

So it is really a good idea to have keywords in your domain name.. :)

I disagree with most of you. I think that the domain name adds little or NO value to SERPs. Talking from experience.

It is very wise to have your keywords in ur domain but don't use a hyphen. It will spoil ur branding effort in case you get big. For small niche sites that rely solely on SEs for traffic, the hypens are fine...

Also if you are going to start a site with more than 50% direct traffic, then the name doesn't matter, as long as you are the most relevant source of your information on the internet.
