You can either do what needs done within the lighttpd.conf or within php. .htaccess doesnt exist in lighttpd (for good reasons).

What is it you need to do that you currently do in .htaccess?

Never seen Myspace ban domains before. Tested a great deal of sites today and found it has nothing to do with the script they are banning on a domain bases. For testing created a new site and it works but none of my old ones will as they are redirecting them to google.

It is very worthy, because while it currently does not have much traffic, it has AMAZING potential. Same goes for domain parking and stuff.

Myspace does not ban domains and have no way of doing so. What they do is block your server IP (not the domain IP). So ALL sites on that server can no longer access Myspace. The only way around it is to change your primary IP which is usually not possible or routing the outgoing traffic through another IP. Also, Myspace doesn't really block the IP the normal way, they block your IP from doing DNS lookups, hence blocking you from "finding" Myspace.

edit: I noticed the redirect to google. I'm not sure how they're doing it yet but its not related to domain.

I had myspace block me last month by dns, It appears this Block is realted to IP. FDC Ips get redirected. i've tried other proxies on different datacenters and they work. So it must be that.

It's not FDC in particular but just proxy ip's in general that are being blocked. Such is the nature of proxies that busy sites with higher traffic levels are more likely to be blocked.

They stand out clearly in logs as being highly trafficked from a single/small number of IPs and as a result of the higher traffic levels are also more likely to have increased level of abuse per IP with message and bulletin spam, phished profiles, etc.

The potential is if people actually decided to start advertising it and using it. I'm sure its not being used, that's why it doesn't have members. But if somebody decided to do something with it, it would become active and easy to promote.

I think 67.159.0.0/18 is blocked. It probably is the amount of traffic coming from that range as you sorta said. There is too many proxies at FDC I'm figuring..

    yes with my help :p

Myspace blocking proxies from accessing their site is starting to get old. Have to work around their blocks twice in two weeks now is making maintaining compatibility more and more frustrating..

Facebook actually blocked a bunch of ranges a while back but I didn't have any problems with that on my production servers at the time (but did on a test box in Germany which is the only reason I noticed they were doing it)...

    Hi,

What ways besides googlea ds, bidvertiser and adbrite can you make money off proxy websites?

Do popunders etc work? What about other methods?

Can people direct me to any websites that offer these services.

    Thank you.

You can use adbrite, global interactive, canep, media shakers, banner connect, FOA, Xtendmedia in your proxified pages. (Never use adsense on proxified pages). For popups I recommend Adversal. Adbrite's Full page ads also work well on proxified pages.

Same here. This is a quite the hostile business where you have people on both sides trying to block you.

Hmmm... for anyone that is a publisher with XtendMedia I advise you to send them an invoice every month otherwise they will not pay you.

For those that already send them invoices every month, can you tell me or give me an example of the invoice you send them.?

    Regards
    Justin
