My eyes I think you are dead wrong about the socail bookmarkings. I have a jokesite which gets about 25,000 U V a day from stumbleupon. My conversion rate is 3.0 out of 5.0 so they are clicking and buying. I am mainly using adbrite except for the link unit. When adsense started going downhill in december i started looking elseware. Everyone blames the advertiser i blame google I have noticed this past month some of the image ads are the same advertisers as adsense was using on my site. for the same image ads that google put on and getting clicks on them and they are paying 5 times higher. But back to subject now the thread starter mentions site not blog. My advise was to put ads on and experiment see which one works but your article on your blog is wrong this is from the experice I have had with stumbleupon.
I hope you add reasons why you are suggesting it. 50 unique visitors a day?! Let us do some math here. Experienced Google Adsense earners believe that a 3% CTR is good enough. If an average CPC is $0.05, you will then make $0.15 for that 3% CTR. So to make your first $1, you will need 667 pageviews! But of course, there are high paying keywords but you have to bear with tons of competitors. Furthermore, these visitors should come mostly from search engines as I have explained earlier. But of course, I am not forcing anyone to believe me. I am just trying to help using facts and logic. If you did not read the link I shared earlier, then I strongly suggest you checked this one out - Knowing When to Add Adsense to your Blog However, it's still the thread starter's choice. I just wish he will not come back to us later complaining that Google Adsense ban his account, just like most new bloggers are doing.
I usualy add adsense and other advertisements on my sites as soon as they are atleast 2-3 months old with minimum of 50 articles and 100 UV/day.
I therefore congrats you for your high traffic and earnings, but the thread starter is a beginner. I am just concern that his account might be banned. Besides, I believe that traffic from SU is very unpredictable.
Once your adsense account approved, and your submitted site still did not shows any adsense ads for some specific times, Google will send an e-mail to you. Furthermore, I don't see any reason why we should hold the ads from showing.
Yes Robert there is a un disclosed rule of adding adsense code to your new site or blog. You should wait for some time to get unique visitors from search engine that is around 100 per day. Your those visitors should not be your friend from net working site or social site. It may be a mix of both. The moment you put adsense code to your site your rank to google will go down little but don't worry for that. Continue promoting your site. Do some SEO and try for the PR by putting comment of high pr site or blog and pr exchange directories. If you put adsense to your brand new site which do not have sufficient amount of visitors then you may be smart priced by google.
From my point of view once there is enough content at new site then that is the best time to add adsense there. After that you need to promote your new site using various techniques. DON.
IMHO do it right now, not everyone is going to come back to your site - so don't bother about those who landed up on your site for any reason best known to them. Now for regulars, Ad's are not all the bad, at times I click on the ads on other sites - just because it was giving me the information I was looking for (and I know someone made some cents by that act) Adsense - in a way spices up your sites, adding dynamic ads as per content - even regulars get a new look and feel each time they visit. Not to forget that better ads would be served by the provider - as you make changes to content (based on your experience) - and overall a win win for you and your users and the advertisers. So go ahead and add it from day 1 - should you wish to follow my input. Best Wishes, G
To my perception you can just start putting ads on your new/site blog. Its better to get something than nothing from the start...
When the site is already indexed and started to appear in google search engine. Usually after adding the ads, you should see some decrease on ranking.
If its a site that wont be getting updated all the time then just add adsense as soon as the site is complete and each page has ample content. If its a blog say after 8 - 10 posts.
I totally agree with you. The reason behind not sticking ads on a brand new site is if you stick ads on a new site then google bots will know or think that this site is made for adsense. then your site or whole account will be on smart price. so 0.01-0.05$ per click not more than that.
Better you have some patience and wait for reasonable quantity of visitors striking your site then add your adsense code. It will help you to get more CTR as well as more dollar from your site.
