[WTS] Original webapp

I heard someone on here complaining the other day about how there weren't enough webapps passing through here. So, I decided to dig up a little app I wrote to test the appengine platform a few months ago.

* Hosted on appengine - no hosting fees!
* Novel idea - loads of fun
* 100% custom coded in python, there's also a report inappropriate posts, it's just disabled
* I never did anything with it, so assume no traffic
* There are, however, 44 questions submitted by users

Is it possible to host this on its own domain, away from appsport/appengine etc?

And just to confirm, its totally unique?

I am really interested, would like answers to the above questions and a rough price.

 

Yes, it's totally unique, I wrote the entire thing personally!

You can set up your domain with appengine so that you don't have to use an x.appengine.com subdomain, but at the moment, it relies heavily on appengine for it's backend.

Of course, I COULD rewrite it completely, either in PHP relying on MySQL, or in python using some ORM, if you really are interested and want to shed appengine.

As for price:
I put many, many hours of work into it, but that number is inflated, as I knew nothing about appengine when I started.
I hate valuing my own work, so I'd be much happier if you just made an offer.

No, none at all.
You just plug your domain into the admin panel and point your domain.
EDIT: And you also get a pretty much 100% uptime guarantee, as you're running on google's servers.

 

Aha, I remember what I was going to do with this app now. I had plans to develop this into a facebook app – I think it would be a goldmine! This is something I'd be interested in working on with the buyer, if I decide to sell the site.

EDIT: Cool, there's actually some thought promoting questions on there now. How much would it take for you to... press a button to kill one random person in the world?

Asus-Games, such is the problem with webapps – not too hard to code if you use the right platform, but good ideas are hard to come by.

Well, it's been nearly a year, and this app is back up for sale if anyone is interested! No changes have been made to the app (besides some code cleaning) as I've been working on other things, so everything said in this thread still stands.
