So I just completely redesigned my website and uploaded the new design, new meta tags and all...but google is still referring to the old pages, and old descriptions...as well as old php files where the site is now in html so they are simply leading to broken links. How do I get them to update with the new information FAST?
You can try submitting a new sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools. Beyond that I think the only thing that might help is to get some new backlinks from high quality websites. You might just have to be patient while Google gradually updates their cached info.
Let me know if you succeed in getting Google to do anything on your hoped-for schedule. They'll pick up your new titles and metas the next time they crawl and cache those pages.
Stumble it to stumble upon Submitting you new site to different social bookmarking sites like digg would greatly help you with your dilemma. Bots would easily crawl your new tags and update them to search results through the help of social sites.
I believe Google updates their listings every 1-2 months.. Recently, about 1 week ago, they crawled most sites so you have a little time to go.
