You can use rank checker pluging from seobook or google free monitor.

The normal time that Google indexes new pages is 2 weeks or longer. You can try other promoting methods to get your posts indexed and in the first pages of Google faster.

submitting your blog to google and other search engines will get you indexed sooner or later but will not get you up on search results. you need proper on page optimization and link building for that. i would suggest you to read "search engine optimization" and "link development forum" here on DP as well google search for those terms which will give you an understanding on how search engine ranking works

Don't worry about it. If it's not on the first page for a targeted keyword it doesn't matter. So if you are trying to make money from your blog, keep building your links and incorporating targeted quality content.

It makes no difference if you rank 147 or 1,647 because you still won't be found and visited by more than a handful of people.

Try using WebCEO which is free and will show all rankings and indexed pages. Also try pinging other directories with BlogBuzzer

IBP is also another good tool to find your pages in search engines whether they exits or not.
