    AS far as i know, Blogs like wordpress and blogspot have a "no follow" on posts unless the owner of the blog, lifts it!

    As already stated, the blog owner has to make his/her blog do-follow for you to get backlinks for your comments....
    Even otherwise, if you find the blog really good, do post your relevant comments frequently and in appreciation of that, good bloggers do appreciate your gesture by having your link in their friends' or blogroll list! :)

    Generally, blogspot's comment using nofollow attribute, so ur comment won't be counted as a backlink in google SE. But it will be counted as a backlink in Yahoo SE..:)

    only a very few where the owner has hacked the template code and removed the nofollow line.

    they will usually state this somewhere prominent if they've gone to the effort of doing it.

    Link is a link :) It is counted whether the blog has a no follow or do follow attribute. The relevant thing is that it must be related to the niche.
