    I'm sure a major Serp update started Feb 24th.... Serps still bouncing, anyone feel Google is still updating and when it should finish it's been 6 days.

    Some of my site got its ranking bounced in every few hours. However, this is common for sites which ranked in some competitive keywords. The site which has ranked in some competitive ones would get effect more than site that ranked in lower competitive keywords. I think this is some kind of "total site and link evaluation" process. Just my opinion and please do not take it as a fact, but I think this process could take for a week at least until it's stable.

    yes i am with you guys Google still dancing my 80% of sites drop in serp don't know what is happening also checked lots of websites but found no answer....i am starting building links from tomorrow as i can see some algo changed from google end....

    This is only my suggestion, you shall wait and see what happen before doing more link building or change overall content. From my experiences, this is a largest dance I've ever experienced. My site "sometime" not ranked even for its own domain name (without extension) but it bounced back in only couple of hours later, and then it's disappeared in a few hours later either and so on and so on. This is some kind of evaluation process but a bigger one of course. This process will continue for more week in my opinion. The results in "important/competitive" keywords are not stable yet. :)

    Huh? Is there such a thing called Serp update? Since when? I thought it all depends on meta tags, backlinks, as well as anchor text and the likes?

    Serps changing everyday at backend beyond our witness :) However, this should be called as "BIG UPDATE" of Google. I have read from seobook blog and Aaron wall stated he has noticed about the new Google algo that focus on product branding in some important keywords.

    Yeh i agree seems like a major Serp update for some sites. My major site only is bouncing from page two to page one twice a day and has been for 6 days.

    Never seen an update like this before.

    I am seeing major keyword position changes. It seems to be happening to websites that have recently acquired news links from high Alexa ranked sites. Google is following on its theme of ranking well branded businesses higher than popular product search sites.

    I'm also seeing my sites jump around in the ranks. Unfortunately all down in rank :( But that happens sometimes.

    It does make some sense about this. My site just got linked from authoritative 11 years old directory and that might cause about this. Because this is only one site that got effected while other ones are not, the other ones do not get link from this directory of course.

    It's now 7 days... how long can this update last for. I have never seen a update take so long, maybe it's a major Algo update.

    how can you say it will take today to finish all... as i see from 24th feb google SERP went in mess for all my site hoping to get back all positions of my keywords...lets see what google will do :mad:

    My site improved on every KW search, including my main ones "Sacramento Weddings" (#2 from #3 previously).

    There have been some weird Google Dance episodes in the past 2 weeks:

    both times my site disappeared from SERP for about one hour, then everything returns to normal.
