I bought a small niche site a few weeks ago, some nice content, decent price. Got a couple clicks in the first few days, 50 cents each. A week ago my clicks were paying me 5 cents, I was still getting clicks, now today I got 4 clicks for a total of 9 cents! Did I get smartpriced or something else? Adsense clicks on my other sites are still worth as much as they ever were; does G penalize you by the site or would they slap my whole account? NOt that I've done any thing at all to deserve a penalty, as far as I know... Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
Advertisers are just paying a great deal less at the moment. You can always restrict certain advertisers from appearing on your page who will probably be using the ads for the purpose of arbritage - they will no doubt be paying peanuts for a clickthrough.
I happens...nothing is safe... I had a few great paying niches... now they are all 0.50 cent ECM =(( *cry* *cry*
Ha ha thanks Ryan-- I know I'm making peanuts! Anyway I have no idea how to restrict certain advertisers, but I'll look into it-- thanks again.
It happens sometimes much more and some times only few cents, year back i get 0.90 cent and next day got only 0.01 $. same thing happening this year too. filtering sites not help much more becoz other mfa sites take their place.
Everyone blames the advertiser I found its not so. My reason I have a humor site google started putting alot more image banners on than tex. Was making good money in november and the begining of december Was making anywhere fron 10 cent a click to a 25 cents then the bottom dropped out started getting only pennies. Went to adbrite now those same image adds are still paying up to 25 cents there so do not blame the advertiser's thats crap. Blame google I do. Whats realy funnie is the people that are using adbrite there has not been any complaints just for google. give that a thought.
Couple of clicks are not enough to decide. It can be other way round. Your niche might probably be worth only a few pennies per click. But since you got a couple of lucky clicks worth 50 cents, you assumed that all clicks are worth 50 cents. Now you are back to where you belong to - ie. 5 cents a click. This is just my theory. Does this match up? That said, 2 cents a click is a lot less - for any niche. I get average of 5 cents a click. I would suggest you to wait a little longer to arrive at the average cpc. May be a few hundred clicks.
as some one said above its depends ..one day you may get 5 clicks and 0.30 cents and other 2 clicks and 1.29$ happens
it is not adsense, it is the economy But you can try increasing the traffic. More people will be online now that people have no jobs. Bad for affiliate marketers, but you can maintain the CTR.
Google may have devalued your site as well. Many changes last month. More changes coming. The average webmaster doesn't realize that Google is pushing hard to "weed out" non branded sites. Do a search for any major competitive term and you'll see Corporate America dominating the Top 10 results. For some reason Google thinks this is what people want. But the bigger reason is that once they Top results are saturated by the same companies over and over it will force them to spend more to get more traffic and that is a big win for Google. Many changes coming this year. The days of just getting lots of backlinks will soon be behind us. The things you visitors do while on your site is going to play a major role. So if you have a zillion back links and a high bounce rate you won't rank.
Take a look at the Adsense units on any of your specific blog/web pages and check for any ads that look abit spammy, trashy or not relevant to your content and then just head over to Adsense Setup, then finally to the Competitive Ad Filter. From here you can add the URL of any ad appearing on your page and this site will soon be restricted within a few hours. I know it's time consuming, but it could make a big difference on your future clickthrough revenue.
They do say if you do not get atleast a 1,000 visit a day you will strugle but the still will except you. I get anywhere from 15.000 to 25,000 a aday
