I still get PMs from people asking how much traffic do they need to make $50, $100, $200+ per day via Zango. Well, there is no "across the board" answer. You cannot say that 5,000 unique visitors per day are enough to make $100 per day using Zango. If you remember one thing about Zango then remember this ... your website's earning potential is not based solely on the amount of traffic, but also by the PERCEIVED rarity of the content available on your website. I say perceived because you only have to make the visitor think that they can't easily obtain your content elsewhere. In my experience the perceived rarity of the content is just as important as the amount of traffic. This is easy to understand when you look at some numbers: A website with "hard to find" content might be able to achieve a "1 in 5" or even a "1 in 3" install ratio ... which means that every 3rd or 5th person that sees the zango splash screen will install the toolbar and continue on to the content. For our purposes let's assume that our traffic is good and we average $0.65 (65 cents) per install. Then in order to achieve $100/day with an install ratio of "1 in 3" we would need to get 462 visitors a day. With an install ratio of "1 in 5" we would need to get 770 visitors a day. A website with "easy to find" content might only be able to achieve a "1 in 50" or even a dreadful "1 in 100" install ratio ... which means that every 50th or 100th person that sees the zango splash screen will install the toolbar and continue on to the content. For our purposes let's assume that our traffic is good and we average $0.65 (65 cents) per install. Then in order to achieve $100/day with an install ratio of "1 in 50" we would need to get 7,693 visitors a day. With an install ratio of "1 in 100" we would need to get 15,384 visitors a day. Now with that in mind, here are some typical Zango install ratios (in descending "awfulness") that I have experienced firsthand or discussed with colleagues. Remember though that these are general numbers, and that there are exceptions: GENERAL PORN WEBSITES (1 in 100) Not surprising. There is so much available free porn on the Internet that a visitor can just "click away" from your website and find what they're looking for elsewhere in about .03 seconds! **EXCEPTION ** --> "Niche" porn sites (see below). WALLPAPER WEBSITES (1 in 50) Aren't there a million of these type sites? You need a lot of traffic since there are so many other options available to the visitor. If you can supply unique wallpapers then this ratio will improve substantially. STREAMING MOVIE/TV WEBSITES (1 in 25) These can still do relatively well if you lay out the site correctly. Don't give away the farm. Let the visitor see what you have, then when they try to access the page with the TV/Movie you throw the Zango splash screen at them. NICHE PORN WEBSITES (1 in 10) The "nichier" the better. Visitors aren't going to find a whole lot of other places where they can see Grandma with the family dog. Your traffic potential is much less, but it will convert Zango at a decent clip. NEARLY "ONE-OF-A-KIND" WEBSITES (1 in 5) Someone here at Digital Point was recently selling a website that allowed the visitor to get a "barcode representation" image of their signature. They could use this image on forums, emails, anywhere. Now I've seen this elsewhere, but not by the tons. And I bet that many casual surfers have probably never seen this or known that it existed (PERCEIVED RARITY). If marketed correctly, this site could make killer earnings with Zango. I came very close to purchasing this website, but my other projects were going to make finding time to market it very difficult. "ONE-OF-A-KIND" WEBSITES (1 in 3) This is when your website is the only one that offers a particular content. A custom created program or utility that can be downloaded or used is one such example. These are harder to create, but if you keep your eyes open you can stumble onto something in the buy/sell forums. Hope you folks find this helpful.
Nice thread , I agree with all except porn (1:100 ratio?! people love porn !) and the streaming one's can get even 1:6. all this info isd based about my experience:
IM sure if he was going to photoshop it. He would have made something worth showing. 4k isnt exactly godly cash around here. Not to say its crap ofir. I was reading your blog the other day. Very nice
also if he wanted to show a screenshots photoshopped he would have made a new thread tats wat most of the photoshoppers do! lol
O holy sheet. I thought it was for a month not for a day Ok. You are the man. Ive always wanted to do something with zango. But what i find is the issue is that im not the greatest at SEO. So that means i have to depend on linking sites, And nowadays most sites linking to you dont want zango or cpalead for that matter.
Hey Ofir12, I'm curious why 10:00am is so much more lucriative than any other hour of the day for you. Do you know why?
