OK, so I have a (legal) download link on a page with Adsense ads, which looks like this: So the question is: isn't it okay to display ads like that? Why would someone claim it is fraud and report me to Google? If it is, I'm sure there are a lot of websites out there having involved in such a fraud?! Is the complaint actionable?
Obviously if Google is doing something they care. You pretty much have to play by their rules or at least not get caught. Imagine if you were paying for those ads!
That is smart but against the TOS. I agree that there are many people who do this but then obviously all of them do not get caught. This is not recommended for someone who has goals of making long term money with AdSense. Everyone who breaks the TOS will get banned. If not today, maybe tomorrow....
Your hiding the download link between text ads. I'm pretty sure that's against the TOS. I'll look it up real fast...
Thanks for the explanations! I never knew this is against the TOS. I kept thinking this is a legit SEO technique, something like strategic positioning of ads in the page. Several days ago I found out that Google allows font change. If this is against the TOS, why would they they allow font change, since integrating ads well into a page can also lead to misclicks?
You should not follow the hundreds of sites... just follow what google policies are asking you not to do.
Thanks for the information. Would it be a good idea if I get the problem fixed before Google investigate into it? I don't wish to get banned just because of two pages that have ads placed like that (the rest are okay).
Thanks peterfoti! I'm not trying to promote or something, but do you see this a problem after the fix? http://mrdefinite.com/inframecontent/150facebooktools.htm I don't wanna go against TOS. Update: Do you think it is wise to write in to Google to explain to them what happened? Or just leave it and see what will happen next?
Yes. IMHO you should recreate the page. Right now you have a title, some words, a link, and some ads. Make it look pleasing, delete one of the link units. Essentially show Google that you are trying to make the necessary changes and you are not trying to scam clicks.
Well the best is niot to discuss with google or else they will simply ban you. Just remove the link and write a letter to google through webmaster tools.
A thief is not a thief until unless he is charged. using it you violate the Google adsense. For now the best advice would be change the coding...
That's why I always say .. read the TOS man ... And not that you're caught ... you'll fear the power of Google .. am I being too harsh on you .. nahyyy
