Banned for 2 Yr. Old Post

I got banned for 7 days and here is what I received in the mail. I can't figure out anything out of it. Can you?

That link is to a 2 years old post in which I did not even have a post.

Can anybody figure out what could have been the reason here for me getting banned at DP?

Sometimes I think whether I should even be at DP at all.

 

Looks like someone trolled you and reported you.
or DP moderators have been opening older case files lately

 

What does this mean "Belongs in PM"

 

Difficult to say unless you post the complete details, especially as Indian said "Belongs in PM".

 

ouch, a moderator was having a bad day. 10 points for a bump. That's not right.

 

The bump post would have been deleted.

The question has to be asked though, why are new forum rules being applied to older posts? Hmmmm this crap irritates me when it happens to senior members who contribute to the forum, then get treated like this.

I am sure I DID not posted anything in that thread, or even have seen that thread in last one year.

My point here is: If I got banned, atleast I should know what I got banned. Right? That email says nothing.

 

I suppose infractions for bumping thread has only one point, enit? Btw banning for two years old post is not a fair thing to do.

I just checked and you did post a "PM me" type of post in that thread, it was just deleted. I think someone reported that thread as I see many others that got the ban as well. Unfortunately the mod must have missed the date of the post, in all honesty I did that once too but I was alerted to it an reversed the infractions.

 

It probably was a mistake by the moderator who didn't notice the date on the thread.

But you did infact post on the thread, it would be impossible to issue an infraction on the thread if you hadn't posted in it.

And the 7-day bans for bumping on BST threads are nothing new.



Edit: Apparently Roman types faster than I do. Either that or it's not as late in his time zone.

 

But I posted that about 2 YEARS BACK.

Anyways, so I think this was a mistake.

Damn, with your reputation rating and number of posts, it would be a huge loss to get banned, someone should apologize and people should be careful, this is crucial stuff...

 

Is it possible a way to reduce number people visite the site they are having too many members.

 

May be the admin or mod can explain about all this.
