Goodbye Internet ( An helpless Chinese webmaster)

When I was small, I'm very proud I'm a Chinese because the teacher told us, our country is very strong, our government is

very clean, our environment is very beauty. I am very proud of my origin in such a great country.

Slowly, I grow up, and began to touch the world and begin to understand myselves. Sad but I found that the sky in china

is not so blue, water is not so clear ,the land not all green.

Began to have my own web site, beginning to touch to the real Internet. in the past few years, I am so happy, because

through the Internet, I have known a lot of friends, the United States, Britain, Canada and so on, although we have not met,

but we can communication, to share our happiness.

However, the Chinese Internetis not freely like imagined.

Suddenly one day,I found I can't open all my own sites. Shocked.

Contact IDC, was told that in China, the site should not involve politics, should not voice our opinions about the

Communist Party, can't said officials bribes, should not talk about the leaders, should not have sexy young girl, should not

    have a forum, should not. . . . . . Can not too much.

In order to monitor our web site, those boring officials came up with a special method of boring --- beian. Means to the

Web site tied to a chain, can allow the Government to hold our necks.

Later, even turn off the server, there is no reason, just hope that Chinese harmony.

    Finally, we are desperate
In China, the world's top 500 game website was closed without any reasons.
In China, tens of millions of people's blog was closed.
In China, tens of billions of Web sites was closed too.

So, goodbye my darling --Internet, I already can't afford to become China's webmaster.

Government, please give us a road, when you condemnation of america's human rights report is a deceit, at the same time,

please good look at the current Chinese.

Of our citizens really have human rights? When there are a few foreign friends ask me this question, I really hope that

    my answer is: YES

China isn't that bad, at least your country is having a huge current account surplus. Hilliary Clinton have to more or less beg China to continue purchasing US Bonds. Political freedom etc, I guess China still have quite a long way to go. It is still a third world country with a third world mentality despite its meteoric rise in economic status.

One thing I agree with China is the closing of some of the web sites. I don't mean those blogs that carry decent political content but those games, MP3, videos sites which are blatant copyright violators. But you do not need to be so pessimistic. I guess if you keep away from politics, being a webmaster is still quite lucrative in China.

Maybe these game websites were closed because of piracy?

I am sorry I don't have much idea about these legal issues. But if you have a backup and move your server out of China and domain too, you can still run the sites if I am correct?

Ive heard about this. The government has placed strong restrictions on the internet usage. Thus making the internet quite hard to use and many are seeking ways to get around the blocks.

I am sure you can try to host a new website outside the country. Even your mobile website are still located in china or hosted in china with a dot cn. I heard about strictness in China, but not sure how many website are being banned or closed.

    I'm from China~

It's true, they want to control the whole Internet! Shut off your server, even hold on your domain~~~

If you want to build a website, you need to provide all your ID info to GOV to get a Certificate Number,~~~if not... :(

If you want to build a forum, sorry, you should provide all the moderates's ID info and telephone numbers to Gov, if not~~~ also the blogs,~~~~if any posts or blogs related to the politics, shut off your server, even the whole hosting machine room and hold on your domain!

and more and more... they don't want you discus anything about the politics~~~

Visit this site: www.miibeian.gov.cn, why this site got a PR 10?? cos every sites in China should get a Certificate Number from here and link back to this site before they run online!

just visite any famous protral sites in China, such as 163, sohu, sina, and scroll down to the bottom, you will find that there are many Certificates links on the homepage!!!

    funny~~~~~

This a big opportunity to those US hosting and domain companies! and other countries~~~
many many webmasters from China are now find the outside hostings these days~~~ but the speed is very important, and the IP address~ (you all knot there is a Great-FireWall in China)

If you can provide the faste-speed hosting and the unbanned IPs, the money is yours!!!!

This is the drawback of communalism. I think chinese authorities are way too strict and never imagined that internet activities can be controlled and restricted in such a manner

This incident clearly reflects why free economy is so much important. When we have one, we hardly care or think of it. Living in a democracy, don't we take too many things for granted?

    Regards,

I rather live a poor life freely than live a rich life under tyranny with no democracy.

China is definitely not the place to wish you live in, thousands of Chinese will confirm that to you.

    Peace,

I'm ashamed of the chinese, and I'm ethnically Chinese, by the way. They cheat in the olympics, they're communist, they literally shut down articles and they brainwash many citizens! Sorry if I offend anybody, but you gotta explore the outside world.
