I don't use IE at all so it took a while for me to notice my sidebar is hanging on my site bourgy.com. I've been trying for hours to fix it and can now honestly say I cannot. Is there anyone out there who can help me. The site cannot validate and IE's error check identifies the errors in some weird script after my </html> tag. Readers of my site say it happened two days ago.I haven't added anything new in that time that I can recall
it has to do with your width settings ... you have to edit your post for code within one of the post ... this shit use to kill me ... I problem solved for day ...then found the answer.... FIRST i alway use FIREFOX too..... however found a great plugin at the firefox site .... YOU MUST add the plugin "IE TAB".... that put an icon in the lower of your browser to jump between FIREFOX and IE .... its great !!!.. to fix your issue ....look for the below ... or add one then 2 or 3 in your wordpress post ... NOT in the view of your post but the HTML of your post ...try at the end ... if it work ... come back and BIG UP .... the man !!!! <div> PHP:
YES.... try to add the div tag with in some post one at a time ... you your problem started when you added a post with bad code .... at lease it did for me..... just try it ... adding them in one at a time and you will find it corrects your issue .... if it does not work just remove the code... one of your post is messed up .... maybe also just DRAFT some recent post ... you should isolate the post SORRY THE CODE TO ADD </div> - div closing PHP: then you may want to find the post with the bad ... code LOOK; i am no expert .... they have lots of experts here.... but my solution for my 78 wordpress site ... was that until someone can help me too.... I'M WATCHING !!!!! . .
Ok, I'll add the closing. The thing is I have checked individual posts and they are all messed up. That tells me it's more than a missing <div>, but I'll try your suggestion. Thanks.
Sorry went out ... just got back home.... try taking out post ...for testing to isolate problematic post .... work backwards with your more recent post ... by taking it out as active ... "DRAFT" IT ..... someone may have the answer for you soon.... My first suggestion worked for me ...
I minimized the sidebar width for now, and that seems to help with IE 8. But someone told me the sidebar is still hanging below in IE6. And if you look at the top near "Search", you'll see issues there in all versions of IE. I'm pissed. It can't even validate.
Issue Solved! All I did was use the 'reinstall automatically' function, and Voila! But before anyone with a similar issue, does what I did and perhaps makes things worse. I used a test site. I imported then tried it there first. Cheers to Mike for helping and Art for replying.
