How would I reach this audience?

I'm going to be having a scholarship available for university/college students sponsored by my website. How would I reach students of various universities throughout U.S. and Canada to let them know about it?

I don't want to spend even more money to get them to apply for it. I assume once enough people from each university knows I will get quite a bit of word of mouth but how can I get the initial bunch?

I suppose social networks will be extremely efficient for this kind of project.

I think you should directly contact the universities mailing these universities once and see what they mail you back...

A lot of college kids are hanging out on facebook, so I would start there. Maybe create a youtube account, post some videos, then post them on your facebook account.

Are there sites you can submit scholarship info to?

Craigslist might be a good option - sending press releases to colleges and their student newspapers might help too.

    Good luck!

MySpace MySpace MySpace - use the free friend adder sites - and make a very informative profile - you will reach TONS of people who will be interested. It won't happen overnight - give it a few weeks ;)

FaceBook is another great Social Network to reach that audience too - but reaching MASS amounts of people is a whole lot easier on MySpace these days - at least that's been my experience.

So my opinion would be Social Networks as well - best of luck!

I work for a company called MediaMate. We are an exclusive ad management company for the student newspapers at over 80 schools nation wide. The student newspaper is still the best form of advertising to college students. We are hired by the school directly, therefore we are not an agency nor broker, all companies wishing to place ads in the college papers that we do ad management for MUST place their ad through us. This includes any brokers or agencies companies may hire to place the ads for them. If you have any questions on how college newspapers are the best route to go or on media mate, please contact me.

    Thank you
