Um, no it doesn't. I'm on it right now trying to do it. Firefox 3 sucks like the brown stuff we wipe off our *beep*!!!!!
You can always turn off automatic updates ( someone already showed the right way on how to do it ), but it's a must to upgrade your FF ! Most of hackers have found ways to make overflows, which means - your data is under risk.
No matter how good the firefox is, if the firefox do so without the permission you setup, simply put it into the hell-fire. I recommend you Chrome and Opera.
Im sure firefox forced there latest update if you had auto matric update enabled, because of security reasons.
I found that most plugin's are already compatible just needs the version updated in the install.rdf file to allow firefox to run it for v3. I got a really cool pagerank checking tool to work for me after the orginal author abandon the project. Just updating the version number made it work just fine. /documents and settings/USERNAME/Application Data/Mozillia/Firefox/Profiles/SELECTTHEFOLDER/extensions/* First close out all running firefox's. From that directory that is all your extensions. Use a text editor to open each of the install.rdf files in each of those folders and then find this in the file "<em:maxVersion></em:maxVersion>" you want to change what is in between that to 3.0.* Then safe the install.rdf . After your done to have firefox reload each and every plugin you have to delete "extensions.*" in the profiles directory (it says select the folder above). Then start firefox and it will reload all extensions and tell you if that one is compatible. You could run a flash drive with firefox portable on it and test the extension on that first. or you could sent me a private message of the names of the extesions that are not active anymore and I can send you a updated .xpi file. For the most part it is a 5 second fix.
I don't know what your problem is but it is you. Right clicking works, as does middle click with the scroll wheel. Fix your system.
i can open links in a new windon on ff3 simple just right click the link and select 'open in new window'
Mine was a disaster.. I closed my firefox browser for a night and re-open it and BAM!! Guess what..! I've lost all my bookmarks & plugins because the Firefox files got crashed..!! I just don't know how to fix it. I have tried to uninstall it and reinstall it back, but it just did't work anymore..! Using IE for this moment.. Does anyone here know how to fix it? Thanks in advance...
Nope, on a Macintosh, the default setting for it is set to no, and you have to change the setting to yes yourself. (Macintosh computers have no right clicking, so you click and hold down.) http://support.mozilla.com/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?comments_parentId=287442&forumId=1 NOW I'm on version 3!!
Yeah, I guess everyone's been there some time or other. At least now you know how to turn auto-updates off, lol.
You can redownload Firefox 2.0.20 from FileHippo, Google it, I can't link you to it due to New Member restrictions Make sure you uncheck automatic updates
Yep, just stick with the updated version. I have been experiencing some problems with Firefox lately and as soon as I updated it, BAM! Fixed
I've had problems with FF3. There are times when it simply hangs. Can't switch tabs - all I can do is close it and restart. I think it has something to do with ads that aren't loading properly. Doesn't happen all the time, but enough to get me to switch to Chrome.
You shouldn't be mad about that. You gained alot more security by it upgrading. Is having all of those firefox 2.0 addons worth the risk of getting hacked or worse? Think about it for a minute & let that sink in.
FF 3 is better in security but I'm preferring my old FF 2, one of my add on got weird execution in FF 3. Is there any way we can downgrade to FF 2 again ?
