email book extractor

Hi I'm working on CMS script and I need email address book extractor.
When new user sign up and that he receive verification mail and in that mail have to bee some code that can extract users contact emails and send them to my script.
Is it possible?

Well if it's not possible, than at the time of registration user will be asked, if he/she want, to import they contacts. So, at that moment my script need to comunicate with gmail, yahoo, hotmail etc mailservers to get data or what?

I'm asking this because I have seen something like that.

 

If you can convince the user to give you their username and password then you can connect to the service and extract their contacts. At worst, it's a standard scraping exercise; some of them may have APIs that make it easier.

Only the dumbest users would give away their passwords like that, though.

 

You need atleast his userid and password and then scraping will do your business.

 

there is a pythin library for accessing gmail ( libgmail ) once you have user/password

and i am sure i have read about a port to php but cant find it right now ..
