I know a lot of people have reduced or stopped serving CO-OP ads with the recent update and scare tactics from Google. (I have yet to join that camp). My question is, has anyone seen any SERPS improvements? I know some are reporting indexed pages increases, but what really matters are rankings. Anyone moving up after reducing the amount of ads or removing the COOP completely?
Nope. I'm still in the index, but positioning is still at a minimum of 30-40. PR has stayed the same, and home page cache is showing post-penalty version of the site.
If I search google for "info:www.mysite.com" it returns no data. This is the same for all of my penalized sites. But for un-penalized sites it returns data. Does anyone else see this phenomenon?
Sttucttam meter? I know thats Matt Cutts backwards, but never heard of the "meter". Several people have but he's ignoring the issue.
After close to a month I seen all kinds of gains in google rankings on both forums I was running coop ads on. Google was my lowest search engine refferer on both for the past few months, now is by far the highest. I also gained serps in yahoo. MSN rankings dropped after the ads were off for 3-4 weeks temporarily, but most came back. I am getting my pages indexed better as well, and evidently the gains are coming from individual threads within google. I seen a climb from around 1,000 entry page URL's in April to 6,000 in June. This is the only disclaimer - I introduced vBseo in March about the same time I dropped COOP, so I can't say which action had the largest effect. I did not remove COOP due to any fear of google though. I moved it simply because with google being messed up my weight was so low that I was getting no referrals from coop links on other sites. my impressions were down greatly and had been for a while. I simply seen no use in carrying these links, sitewide on my forums and giving a ton of page impressions when I was getting nothing in return.
