Hi all, I have been reading around Adsense for a while now, and earn some great extra income to support my studies before I make a decision on whether or not to go into internet marketing full time or not. However I do wish to ask a few questions: I do barely ANYTHING to help these sites. I think I spend maybe 3-5 hours a month on maintaining traffic to them... Am I just incredibly lucky, or have I just hit the right niches? I really want to find out my method, duplicate it to earn more and then possibly market a course to those just starting out. - How do you guys test your sites for performance? - How long do you leave a site before giving up on it? - Do you use Adsense to its full potential? What have been your results with video, search etc? For beginners, I hope this screenshot gives you some motivation to continue with Adsense Alex
you might me lucky with the niche selection. some niches are extremely competitive and you need to do a lot of work to get traffic for them. however, some niche might bring you decent traffic but yet not many people are into them yet. its hard to run into those lucky niches tho but if yuo are getting that much traffic with only few hours of work a month, you are doing pretty well
Just one question, you buy a domain to each website or do you use subdomains? $430 per month is great.
There are some who spent 6-8 hours a day just to get earning above and for yours who only need 3-5 per month is extremely lucky. Well maybe lady luck is on your side there.
You are doing really good considering you have about 11% CTR overall and about 15% CTR for your highest channel Keep it up
Nice work ASM. I am in a very similar situation. I have 3 sites that produce 95% of my Adsense earnings, and they're nearly on Autopilot. I add a little content now and again, and maybe do some link building, but not much more. I rank in the top 5 on Google for about 10 keyword phrases for each of those sites, and they each generate anywhere from 500-1500 unique visitors per day. I'm making anywhere from $1200-$1600 a month and I barely mess with these sites. So I also run a couple blogs, do PPC affiliate marketing, EPN sites that take more time & energy. To answer some of your questions, I will do A/B testing with placements & colors to see which perform best. I focus on organic search engine traffic, so it takes a while to get in the top 10, but if I don't start seeing 500-1000 unique views per day within 3 months, I will try to figure out what I'm doing wrong, or possibly scrap the project. You really need that much time to let your backlinks build and your SERPs to really take effect. I almost exclusively use text links. Images have never done well for me, and my sites don't work well with video, so I stick to the 468x60 banner & 300x250 square. Here's my Feb earnings for more inspiration for the newbies don't think this is possible... Mind you the bulk of this is from 3 sites, with multiple channels. Now you won't make money reading this crap...so go do something creative and make some cash! Good luck.
Great stats you got there can you please tell me more about this autopilot i've heard other people talk about it What is it? How does it work? What does it do for you?
Ha ha...it's just a figure of speech my friend. It means I've got sites that just make money and I don't have to update or do anything with them very often. I have other sites that I constantly add content to and work on and they don't produce nearly as much income.
Autopilot simply means setting up a site with good content, good Adsense placement, and good traffic --- and letting it run without much if any effort. A good web site with good content will run on it's own without constant attention.
Congrats! I have also a site on autopilot, updated it 6 months ago and still 1.5k UV/day and about 7$/day. I think i had some luck, may i got some boost from the backlinks (i brougt the domain on auktion with 20k backlinks).
Dang, $430 a month isn't bad . I'd love to get that somehow, but I don't have the money/motivation to start them up
Thanks for all the comments guys. To answer a few questions Sultanofseo: I would normally agree with you for sure, however this has been regular income for me for nearly two years now so I am starting to question my methodology in order to progress further - sticking with a similar niche or changing to a new one is the tricky decision I will face! ThalesMM: I buy separate domains for each website I develop. I figure the $8 or so investment will leave me in a better position if it works or I can just take the loss if I see its failing. You have a year to develop the domain, so keep plugging away until you really it is failing. I do not expect any income from a new site for up to 2 months. Christian231: Great stats mate, pretty much what I am aiming for! In regards to A/B testing, how long do you leave each online for? Would two weeks of each give me a rounded average if I plot the number of clicks on a graph? 90% of my traffic is organic, perhaps targeting different keywords with a separate site would help me corner a larger 'market share' so to speak. Ezia: My only advice is to go for it! If you write good quality content you will be found.. There is enough proof on these forums to motivate you!
Uh...why do you guys block out the CTR and the eCPM? Showing impressions and clicks is also against TOS and besides, from those two and the earnings, one can easily figure out the CTR and eCPM so blurring them out does NOTHING!
