I guess if you get a lot of clicks per day you will check more often as it great to see the clicks, and earnings, go up throughout the day. But I guess those that dont seem to check that often dont make a great deal from Adsense - cos there nothing much to see.
well, as this is the first time I'm really using adsense on my blog I'm checking like 5 times a day or more.. which is really sad because everytime I check it is 0 clicks.. hahaha. even thus my blog is ranking on 3rd place on google for its main keyword, i'm getting no good traffic, actually i'm getting only ~20 at day which is an awful rate for adsense.. :/
I never click refresh on adsense earning since i not checking it all the time. I just get the data then compare to the google analytics and do some improvement i can.
If I recall, there's actually a program that can monitor real-time adsense stats that docks on the toolbar. Can't remember the name though.
Its only a psychological effect. Refreshing the earnings page will not increase the earning and rightly said above it will put more load on the google servers. Adsense revenues are shrinking day by day, I am also not interested so I check it fortnightly. For ones who are interested in seeing their earnings daily there is reporting option available in the adsense setup where one can change the setting and the daily earning report can be mailed to the specified email address. All the time. If I see my a low amount of clicks I post my links in a few high traffic producing blogs or CL.
