Hi all, I have been searching for a CB product to begin promoting. I have never really used CB properly, only making a few sales through a couple of my websites. I have recently been reading up on PPC, Article marketing etc but have found a real problem in actually choosing a product. I used to search for gravity before learning that it just means the amount of competition I will be facing (although obviously it means the product must be doing well or have a solid marketing/promotion campaign). How do I know when I have found the right product? Any advice on steps to choosing the right product promote will be much appreciated! Thanks!
trial and error. if there was some obvious way to make money - everyone would know about it, competition would skyrocket and profits will shrink. The system would balance itself out. So the key to making money on an open medium which is internet is to know something most others don't. By definition such information can't be obtained from forums in a form of open advice. So pick a niche that you are familiar with (after all you can't market gardening ebooks unless you know about gardening or are a marketing guru which I assume you are not) and try one product and strategy after another until you find something that works. Be ready to spend a lot of time and loose some cash before you start making profit.
8/10 of the products that you choose will cost you more money then you make. Find a hungry market, learn what they want you to tell them. Tell them, then sell them.
Thankyou for the replies, but its nothing I do not already know. I have been marketing online for around 3 years but have never gone down the product route. I have always stuck to Adsense and offering my design service What I would like to know is the process behind choosing a profitable product? How do you KNOW when the product is right for you? What boxes must they tick?
You don't, in my experience products that convert don't have to have good looking landing pages. And if you are not a good copywriter you will probably not know which copy is good and which is bad. So basically it all comes down to chance. You choose a product, send some targeted traffic and hope that it converts. I don't think gravity tells if the product converts really good or if it doesn't. I have sent as much as 1k visitors to one of the top gravity products and didn't get a single sale. So again choose a niche that you like/know a lot about and dive into the marketing. If it does, you send some more traffic. Once you got all that fixed and on autopilot, you move on to the next product. You just keep on building one on top of the other and soon you will start to see the real money flow in. Well, in the end of the day they have to be making money. Thats all that matters and thats why we are here for
I happen to think that almost any product is the right product. Meaning you can make money on just about any clickbank or other product you choose. You see, it has less to do with the product and more to do with how well you market it. Granted, some products convert easier which give them the appearance of being more profitable. In the real world, I train selling techniques and behaviors. One of the first things I always tell my group is that they are in control of the sale. Meaning, they get to choose whether or not someone will buy something. What this really means is that they choose how much they practice their selling skills, how well they know the product, how well they listen to their customer, etc. All of these choices increase or decrease their probability of making that sale. The same can be said for internet marketing. Just my .02
