How is this immage insulting to blacks. I see only a shot monkey .... nothing resembling human being, let alone Obama .... I didn't know a cartoon with a monkey in it definetly is insulting to black people. Seems like over, over reacting ....
    Maybe I am missing something.

Damn, I missed to read the text on the picture ..... was unreadable on yahoo where I read about it.

What a dull cartoon. Why saying that stupid thing "They'll have to find someone else to write the stimulus bill." What does the artist want to say with it?

That shot dead monkey has attacked a woman, and the police officer shot it dead. What does that incident have to do with the President, and why the cartoon artist associated it with him???

I agree to compare the monkey to the president is offensive ...... but running after every moron is not worth it IMO.

    I guess the statement

"They'll have to find someone else to write the stimulus bill."

Seems to be implying Obama, kinda bad taste but nothing to kick a fuss over.

I am assuming it wasn't a monkey as it looks like a chimpanzee (there was a chimp attack in the US news recently) and I thought monkey's were fair game since left wing cartoonists used monkey imagery to represent the US president for the last 8 years.

There is a saying that an infinate number of monkeys banging away on an infinate number of typewriters would eventualy produce a shakespear play, maybe the cartoon refers to this, or that the bill is so crap a monkey could have wrote it.
Blacks are probobaly offended by this cartoon simply because of their own paranoia.
A white western country that elects a black president is not racist.

Are you "black" or do you speak for all "blacks" in the world?

Let me get this straight, it's a "white western" country but not racist because it elects a "black" President?

You used race terms 3 times in the same sentence to say it doesn't exist. Okay, that's logical.

I think some people are too easily offended. It's a cartoon - it aint meant to cause any problems!

And truth be told, some do!!! And the same is true of other races.

But that monkey cartoon wasn't about President Obama in the way that a lot of people are making a stink about.
No one made a stink when GW Bush was pictured along side a Chimp(s). . .and we know that he was being compared to that/those Chimps. So what's the big deal if The Post's picture is about the Current President?

I grew up in Mississippi in the 50's and 60's, so I know racism when I see it. And that cartoon was definitely not about race!

Black folks, lighten up (no pun intended)!
White folks, stop walking on egg shells (no pun intended)!

I knew the cartoon wasn't about President Obama when I first saw it. . .the monkey's ears were too small:D!
