    Hi All!

Could do with a hand - just geting started with affiliates (Tried a long time ago, but never succeeded, and trying again now)

    I spent $40 in adwords
And got a return of $22 in azoolge.
    So i lost $18.

The keywords that made me lose money - are all single little ones, with just 1 or 2 clicks. But that built up so that i didnt make anything.

    What would you do?

Also, i have 10,000 keywords in 1000 adgroups - all good QS, all showing, but i still only managed to spend $40 over night, when i set the dailey spend to $100. Any ideas there???

Thanks for your help guys!!! If i can work this out, it'll be a big help! :p

One night is too soon to say whether the campaign is doing badly. Are you tracking which keywords are earning you money and which are not?

    Hi,

Yes, im keeping track of keyword results -- so the would you say i should leave it for a few days before making changes? How long would you suggest?

    Thanks for the help!

$40 is not enough to see which keywords and converting and which aren't. One or two hundred at the minimum I would say.

I have good tracking software thanks :)

I've left it a few days now, and im glad i did thanks guys, i can see some of the words with 1 or 2 clicks that i was going to remove, now have had 10 clicks and look good.

I've still not made any changes at all, i'm going to wait and see what happens. It'll cost money, but i guess its all part of it.

    Can i just ask???

I have set my dailey spend to $100 -- and i have 10,000 keywords, why is it only spending $40 a day?? Surley out of the 10k words, it would find enough to spend $100 on???

    Thanks again.

That's a problem right there....10,000 keywords? There is no way your ads/traffic are targeted enough with that many keywords.

Start with a few keywords, maybe 20 or 30. Then figure out which ones are working and try adding some new ones. Starting with 10,000 keywords is a recipe for disaster.

I agree here. With 10,000 keywords you are looking at between 100 - 200 adgroups. How is the quality of your keywords? Are they generated permutation of a few phrases? On what page number are they appearing? You can have a keyword with good search numbers but if you are on page 5 , you'll see diddly-squat in impressions and clicks. Just my 2cents

I've got 10,000 keywords, in 1000adgroups -- all with a quality score of 7 and above.

i got the keywords by picking a specific term, then using keyword elite to get more -- and then putting them into adwords editor to get even more with their keyword picker, and letting the adwords editor put them into the adgroups it wants. So all my keywords are good and well picked i think.

Maybe my bids arnt high enough then on each keyword -- im getting clicks on only like 120 keywords out of the 10k.

I'll but the prices up for a few days -- and see how it goes :)

    Thanks for the help all!

    1. Not enough data. $40 Spend? Please get realistic.
    2. Your probably not bidding high enough
    3. Get Prosper, its better than whatever junk your using

Tried prosper -- it would be far too much work to organise 1000adgroups and 10k keywords.

What im using is a custom made job - and it works really well.

The problem isnt that i cannot track the keywords - i know exactly what each one is doing - Broad / Phrase / Exact / Etc

The advice on here has been great -- i was trying to manage each days results, so on tuesday, look how the words did on Monday.

What i am doing now, is looking every 4 days -- which is really letting me see what the words are doing.

I'm going to keep adding a bit more to each keyword every 4 days to get some clicks in as well.

    Thanks again!

Well this month has been a waste of time really.

But atleast now i know which words get clicks -- I'm going to pause the campagin tomorrow, and work only with 100 keywords.

Make REALLY good landing pages for each one -- right now all my pages look the same, but use PHP to change text.

The ones i'll make for these 100 words will have different pictures aswell - really make them specific.

    I'll rewrite my ads too.

I'll update anyway if anyone wants? ;)

Thanks again for the help guys!!
