Its really a clear request, if you were not born speaking English I don't want to talk to you no matter "how goodly" you think your english is.
I got like 20 responses and at least half were trying to pass themselves off as English speaking.

I am not applying to be an article writer for you since you are very insistent on the writer's mother tongue being English. However, I really am glad that you are the only person I have seen who can differentiate between good and bad English though I have doubts myself that your mother tongue is English. Though you preach on others to mind their P's and Q's, you yourself seem not to practise what you preach.

If you have any doubts, please check your own posts.

 

I don't wish to debate with you about quality of writing, here is my point,
on a scale of 1 to 10, ten being perfect writing from the best writer on this website, I am only looking for about an 8 or above. As you may have read from some of the messages I quoted above I am hearing from folks whose rating I would put at a 5 at best (95% of the time).

So if my writing is a 8.7 and yours is a 8.5 then either is sufficient. I was born and raised in the United States and have spent of 40+ years here so yes English is my native language and you sir are the exception to the rule and I would love to have your services.

I am not asking folks to mind their P's and Q's (I actually know where that term originated from) I am asking them to stop sending me messages in poor broken english trying to pretend they speak english. If you can enlighten me as to a better way to eliminate emails from folks who barely speak the language I would be happy, oh so happy to use your suggestion but I won't preach to you (not "on you") any longer.

Here is some more ruckus, found like 5 writers who fit the bill, 3 of them were given work and never heard from again.

Signs that the article someone shows you as a sample of their work is someone elses article that they rewrote really badly.

When they say:
Heart health is an increasing concern amongst humans around the world

Wouldn't an original writer say:
Heart health is an increasing concern amongst people around the world
??

When they say:
aiming to keep their heart healthy so that they may have a longer lifespan.

Wouldn't it be better to say:
aiming to keep their heart healthy so that may live longer.
??

I don't know, I can see where you are coming from in a way, but it may just be the method they use for phrasing. Assuming it is copied or rewritten because of a word or two you don't agree with seems like a dangerous standard.

Today's funny story is someone who two days ago sent me a PM,

They have a name on DP that would indicate that they are a writer (like WritingPro, not their real name because I don't want to embarass the person)

And the tag on the bottom of their message says something like:

"Professional Article writer"


I asked them to write an article that was 800 words on a subject and they passed on the assignment because they are used to writing 300-500 words


I love the folks on this website, I really do!


You can't even get a theme or a point of view across in 500 words and I was willing to pay for the full 800 words.


Is there so much work out there that people are turning down good money?

Tomorrow I expect to be told by someone "Oh I don't use nouns in my writing, is that ok?"

LOL, I find this thread very amusing. However, I can see your points and think it is a shambles for the industry when so called writers pose as such and then fail so miserable. No wonder clients are only prepared to offer $2 per article.
