I am absolutely in love with a product that is old, but is new to me, called Associate-O-Matic. (no aff link, just Google it.)

I set up my first five AOM stores this past weekend, ran PPC ads, and will have have already made $100 in profit, once the products ship (Amazon doesn't credit your account until items ship out).

I have done the BANS thing for a long time, and make great money doing it, but this is a new vista for me and I believe that, in the long run, I'll make more money with AOM than I do from BANS, pound per pound.

The only advantage that the Ebay program has ar this point are the A.C.R.U. earnings ($40 each time someone you referred joins Ebay and makes a purchase), but those numbers decline over time, as more people already have Ebay accounts than was historically the case.

    I highly recommend that product.

How targeted are your AOM stores? Do they focus on a very tight niche, or a broad category? How aggressive are you with your PPC campaigns for your AOM stores?

I've been wondering about AOM and I'd like to hear more details from someone who has experience with it.

    Thanks!

Very targeted. In each instance I'm targeting a very specific product category. I'm really aiming for organic listings, and the more wide the category, the more competition, especially from Amazon.com itself.

Just like with BANS, the best approach with AOM is to target a very specific niche, imho.

Paid Version. The free one doesn't meet my needs.

Keep us posted on your success. Your one of the few I've heard claim success with PPC and AOM. I like AOM too and have had moderate success with it (organic traffic only though). I like AOM because it is very low maintenance yet steady income.

I am curious as to what your aom sale to site visitor ratio is. Generally they are quite low. To generate that much profit you must be...

    1. Driving a *lot* of ppc traffic.
    2. Have these installs on existing sites with strong organic search traffic.
    3. Selling high ticket items.
    4. Hypnotizing your visitors.
    5. Or all of the above.

Excellent observation. I sell only very targeted, high-ticket items for the most part, although I do have 2 sites targeting very specific book niches..

I am currently using long-tail keywords via Adsense, YSM, and MAC, but only for the first month until I get a following. I also have placed a "Add this to your bookmarks" icon very prominently on several of the pages.

Glad to hear that. Right now I use PPC, and plan to wean off of that method for each site soon. I hope the organic traffic will begin to take up the slack gradually.

I'm really all about set-it and forget it web strategies. I have no interest in anything that takes lots of maintenance.

Good questions. Unfortunately I haven't ever sent PPC traffic directly to Amazon. Prior to this my Amazon income was due to ads and widgets on my other sites, as well as a Wordpress plugin that automatically links book titles to the appropriate Amazon page.

I also have not done conversion ratio calculations, and I don't plan to until I phase out the PPC. No need to do that much work for a promotional method that I don't plan to use.
