Do I Need A Privacy Policy?

    Hi,

I just found out that we now need to put a privacy policy on websites where we're using Adsense (I thought it was a joke when I read it on a blog...), but do I really need to have one? Has everyone else put them on?

    Thanks, Will

indeed, best just to link to google's privacy policy if you use google adsense and don't care about privacy policies for other reasons.

here's what i think about data protection and freedom of information

That rule has been in effect for almost a year now. The answer is yes you do and yes I have.

I have on for all my sites which run adsense. They aren't that hard to write up, just mention about the dart google google uses and explain what data you collect and how you use it etc. Doesn't have to be pages long and full of legal mumbo jumbo like some big company's policies. There are also some templates and wizards around to help you too.
