What could my mom do online to earn extra income?

    Hello.

My mom is recently retiring as a college professor of 31 years teaching office administration and I thought with my experiance online perhaps I could find her some extra work online.

She has vast experiance in word, excel, office documentation, presentations, formatting, letters, legal terminology, among many other things.

She also was a legal assistant in a law firm, although that may just be a regular secretary at the law firm. id have to ask.

She is extremely mature, very experianced, and would put in a A+++ effort every day.

This is not a "looking for work" thread but instead of a "What could she do"

I was thinking of having her as a master proofreader and her selection of excellent writers and students looking for work to start a freelance writing/formatting/etc for business use online.

Im mostly looking for suggestions, this is based off of limited information and anything in specific please ask and ill ask for you.

Where I live some people have businesses such as "We sell your items on ebay" and then local people give her the items to sell and she keeps 20% of the profit?

That could be something to do in the day time apart from a more coding based approach.

    Thanks for the suggestion :)

I dont think thatd be something shed be interested in.

she can earn 100+ an hour working at the college if she wanted teaching part time for as many hours as she wants.
This isnt to say she is looking for 100+ an hour, more that she is looking for an above quality job because she is so experianced, and would expect to be compensated as such.
I think shes looking for something she can do on a laptop doing whatever she wants, making some decent extra coin on the side.

TBH, i think shed rather read a book then bang out 500 words for 10$ or something.

    Just my opinion at least.

she could start a blog or support site for students needing help in the area she has been teaching in for 31 years.

Hmm, could she do online the stuff she does offline?

I mean, create presentations/whatnot for a some price? Could she do proofreading or copywriting?

Could she create video/text training course on presentations/etc.?

She could go nude on webcam? She'd get more than 100+ and hour if shes a milf? :D

No really though, a lady of her knowledge and experience, maybe proofread as mentioned or as the other guy said maybe start her own student support site up (with your help).

The only other thing that comes to mind is article writing.

LMFAO (that's just rude). But seriously, your Mom sounds like a very professional educated woman, and may not be too keen working for others at this point in her life, unless it was a very well established company.

Virtual Office Assistant may be something that she could get into and work for herself, and be selective about here clientele. Sounds like she probably has all the tools, and hardware, and knows how to use them well.

She could incorporate her education, and experience to offer specialized services that others cannot, and she seems to have the expertise to work with a wide variety of clients, especially small to medium sized law offices, and other educators, or educational institutions.

Good luck, I think it's great that you are trying to help you mom, keep up the good work.:)

I think its time for your mother to try something new yet it can earn more than it currently pay check.
What i recommend is trading forex coz its flexible trading time and it can earn more than $400/day if you put into effort and some patience.

I would think that after 30 years teaching office administration and being a legal assistant, the last thing she's going to want to do with her retirement is more administrative type work online.

All jokes aside, and putting her wants before any sort of "OMG my mom..." preconceptions, what about something like running a sex toys website ?

Maybe something a little less tabboo and just as "not administrative bookworm work" ?

Hey guys, just wanted to say thanks for the suggestions.

I dont think she would mind sitting down with a laptop and going through a buncha stuff proofreading, i think if she could earn some decent extra coin doing it, and she could do it on the go. she would.

honestly, i think that running a website would be a BIT out of her grasp. i cant think of much that should could do in terms of sites that wouldnt end up with me doing everything.

I think that the virtual assistant thing would be a bit too much of a lockdown in terms that shed have to be available to take calls, and go on the laptop, forced at times to do it.

based on my research, i dont think anything that she does online unless its running a company of some sort using her skills would not compare to the straight hourly wage she could get teaching.

if she can earn 100+ an hour doing that, she could teach 4 hours a week, rather then do 4 hours a night 7 days a week doing proofreading and small bullshit online to earn the same.

you know on second thought, thats actually a pretty good idea. I bet if i gave her a laptop and actually sat her down like education style and tought her, she could get pretty fucking good at using a blackberry and a laptop to do that. she could probobly earn some decent coin.

Do you know what they earn? is it a straight up monthly fee, or is it a per job thing?

Tell her to sign up at Associated content, eHow and other article websites!

I'm sure she can make great money by writing.

She could write articles, post on forums, etc...
There are a bunch of freelance websites where she can find work. She can also find work on webmaster forums.
Ask her to join a few freelance websites like getafreelancer, guru or project4hire.com and bid on jobs.

I don't mean to be funny but anyone earning $100 an hour doesn't need to be making a side income. if what your saying is correct then:

    8 hours a day x 5 working days a week = $4000

    $4000 x 4 weeks = $16000

    $16000 x 12 months = $192000 a year.

Seems to me like she's raking it in anyway.
