Hi, Can hub pages help in getting back lines?I would like to get more information on hub pages very specially...does it help in getting backlines?I would like to popularise the site forumwatch.org by using hub pages.Kindly advise. Regards Theresia
No hubpages are no follow so not come in backlink as for google concerned. But it will helpful for yahoo and msn.
That is not true Hubpages are by default nofollow but depending on your hub score your links will be dofollow. An example http://hubpages.com/hub/Eucalyptus-Oil If you view the source code for the link contained at the end of the first article you will see there is no nofollow tag for the link labeled skin care

Sorry Theresia forgot to answer your question. Yes hub pages can be very good for promoting sites but it just requires a little more work than it did before. Hubpages cracked down on all the spammy hubs a while ago, now it is best only to put one outbound link to your site per hub, unless it is a big well established hub. If it is new, only one. You also need to get your personal hub score up as well as that of the individual hub. The crack down on spam and dupe content by hub pages is the main reason it is still valued so highly by Google. No Squidoo Slap for hubpages!
Wow really? So me proving that an outbound link from hubpages has NOT got a 'nofollow' tag is not enough? Crikey hope you are never on a jury where they prove someone is innocent
You are slightly right but it is too difficult to get your hub pages do follow. Even it takes so much time.
I think I covered that it is more difficult now, to get you hubs to stop using nofollow. The bonus side this is that many people give up, so less competition, which is always great news in my book And actually without wanting to sound too pompous I am completely right, not slightly right. I am not the one coming out with incorrect and misleading statement like
I've only ever created one hubpage ( about 9-12 months ago) so am no expert, but it did come up in the Google backlinks to my site this January.
Hubpages is hard to get an author score above 75. I have dedicated at least 20 hours and the highest I have been is 71. So the links in my hubs remain Nofollow. But I have had hubs rank on the first page of Google many times for their kewords. My advice would be to just use that content to post an article on Ezine! Hubpages is way too anal!
If you want to raise your hubscore the 2 most important factors are actually your traffic and getting votes. The first is just like any site write on topic content and make sure you use ONLY relevant tags. The second depends on your ethics. You can sit around and wait for people to find your excellent content or you can get friends, business partners, heck anybody you know to go rate it and add a quick comment
I also tried hubpages a while back. I created 6 hubs and did a bit of social bookmarking for them. Unfortunately my hubscore is currently only 65. So my links are still nofollow. I do plan on adding a bunch more hubs to see if I can get the score above 75. I'll also try itvegas64's advice about getting votes. I'm just not sure if all this effort is worth the 1-2 links per hub that I get. I did manage to get some direct traffic to my hubs through some Google rankings though.
I think it is time consuming that you are waiting for your hub score. Better option is use other channel of SEO.
I'm no insider or expert, but i'm wondering if hubpages will become more valuable that squidoo and other type of pages, if only because of the required author score of 75 to activate the links to "dofollow"? I find it interesting that many in this thread think it is a waste of time because of this, and prefer squidoo. I see it as you get more of a return on anything in life, the more you put into it. If you don't want to spend the time writing new, unique articles instead of copying and pasting the same article hundreds of places around the web, I probably don't want to read it, nor do others. Hubpages is trying to not become a spam haven, and I think they are doing an excellent job, although combating spam can never be perfect. I just wrote my first squidoo and hubpage over the last day, and I think hubpages are far superior, and I enjoyed that site more. I visited other hubpages, and even got a new list of articles I want to write next, all without weeding through spam. I wonder if google will think the same and treat hubpages with more authority?
hubpages are nofollow to begin with. however, once your personal hubscore reaches 75, your hub turns into dofollow. its not hard to get 75+ for your personal hubscore. all you need is good content, tag the hub properly, and build some backlinks. social bookmarking and rss feed submission, deeplink directory submission helps.
In my view hub pages is an excellent way to gain good amount of traffic to your website. Backlinks can also be gained if your score exceeds 75.
Hub pages are very good to target particular traffic and visitors for your site..It's best way to promote your site and also Google gives high priority to hubpages, so by hubpages definitely your ranking and traffic will improve..
