Did any one noticed that, there is a very big decrease due to the recession days than the previous deys before the recession? Is it affecting to every one or to the particular Niche only?
yeah I think recession is responsible for low ecpm.Only adsense was paying good but now they also seem to be feeling the heat
Yes...the ecpm could be down due to recessionary condition and also due to big g probably cutting the bigger pie off its publishers to maintain its revenue... These are extraordinary times and the leader might be resorting to extraordinary means!! Regards, RightMan
Same here on a Hungarian IT blog. Number of clicks are the same as before, but the earnings are quite down. At my site this started only 1-2 weeks ago, but i've heard complaints from friends earlier.
Recession is affecting the whole world, therefore the earnings are low. Hopefully it would not continue for much longer time from now.
Not only is eCPM down since the recession started, but also CTR. Google widely advertised in its 4th qtr earnings that it has reduced traffic acquisition cost (TAC) to help boost earnings. That means not only are people clicking less, advertisers paying less but also Google is trying to reduce the amount paid out to publishers ... a triple whammy for us. My only hope is that CTR decreases are not a sign of longer term "ad blindness" versus simply a sign of economic recession.
People don't walk around the car lot when they can't buy the car. Same idea here. People don't have money so what would be the point in looking at and clicking ads?
