In our house, it is pretty much "just another day." Even when we were dating, dh didn't like someone telling him he needed to "love me". LOL So I quickly gave up the fantasy of being spoiled. However, I think the prices for dinner out and flowers is rediculous and if he ever wanted to spend $ like that on me, I could think of lots of things I'd rather have. Now, I do get the kids some little heart boxes with chocolate and a card because I think they deserve to enjoy the holiday! And of course, it's always nice to tell them I love them. I even got dh some candy this year and he was very happy.
TBH I've always been single on valentines day but I'm taken for this year so it should be a new experience =] Will have to stop working for the night though! Disaster! Hahahaha. What I'd do for a webmaster gf...
Valentines Day is way too commercial for my following. Somehow, I don't understand why you'd need one day of the year to express that undying love when 364 others are just as good, barring some minor weather fluctuations. Nowadays, its just a money spinner to make believe some sort of a "spirit of true love". Ah well...its just my opinion, and I've been wrong about things too.
its a good day to go out and pick up single chicks who are lonely on valentines day. But if I have girlfriend I quess I have to do something. But usually not its kinda dumb
I am waiting for this day as I celebrate this day without anyone since 23 years. So this is a big day when I will have my valentine with me.
I used to always celebrate Valentines day. Now that I'm single I try my hardest to not have plans with a girl on that particular day, save the $150+, then go to a nice dinner with my guy friends who I've known for 10+ years and are always there. Just my $0.02... Until I get married of course.
I agree, too commercial nowadays....set dinners, roses that cost a bomb...but since i'm a true blue romantic, me and my partner, we dress up, dont make any reservations for set dinners, just go and find a quiet restaurant and celebrate our love...nothing too fancy..
I expect Valentine's Day with very much interest because of the chocolate and champagne consumed in substantial portions
i feel its jus a day..wen u can express ur love to anyone you love..it can be ur mom, dad,a frnd....tell tat person tat u love him/her
