That was real nice! That poor Koala must be real thirsty. These guys can't run fast and can only hang on to trees. They are lucky not to be roasted. The situation there is still very bad though. Hopefully some rain comes along the way.
edit: oops its posted before i could edit the title. sorry. Perhaps you havent seen it. This is footage of a firefighter finding a koala or two and feeding one water. It even puts its paw on his hand-sooo cute!! The footage they showed on news here tonight, the lady thats taking care of koala is sitting in her kitchen and the whole kitchen was packed with the media...it just sat there letting her bandage its burnt feet. That link shows half the footage. wisdomtool- yea the poor wildlife. evidently i heard that upto 1 million animals has perished.
"you watch ... he'll get hydrated and then he'll rip the absolute **** outta me" 'News' link ***********************
I can't imagine the extent of the damage, just that I know one former neighbor, a poor old lady had her house of 40 years burnt down because of the flying embers. The wild life out there must be suffering worse, they can't speak nor complain. It is great that these are highlighted. Frankly if I can get my hands on those arsonists, they are history.
Thanks for all replies so far. Green rep for all. Yes i agree. The devastation to both human and wildlife is horrific..at least in my lifetime. The tales of survival (humans) that have emerged from this disaster is mindblowing..and this video highlights the animals survival. I have also seen an image of several cows cornered in a paddock..literally cornered entire paddock burnt except for the small patch where they remain standing.. actually i'll try and find it.. Slideshow of bushfire images (The site i've linked is the website of a national news network) Another pic of the same koala is on slide 11 and the cows i'm talking about is slide 25. Check all slides out. Some pictures are saddening and others are mindblowing.
