I don't go to controversial and untrusted sites and my computer has Avira Antivirus loaded all the time. In addition to that, I also use Spy Bot Search and Destroy and nothing else other than this two.

I am using Avast alongwith zonealarm to protect my computer. Do scan of my computer once in a week (weekend). Daily run CCleaner to remove unnecessory files from my computer.

    DON.

Nod32 and Comodo Firewall (both are rated best in the industry). Weekly scans and no downloading of anything unless I need it.

    Works like a charm :)

I'm USING AVAST anti virus and Spyware doctor. make sure to have a license one to make it a good protection system and do a full system scan when you have time. There's a big advantage if your computer software are license copy.:)

Ugh, good question. I just got rid of a super nasty virus (that I unfortunately think I picked up from one of the links from this site, can't figure out which one but most likely related to a free ebook) and it was a nightmare. I have a very nice virus program, Sophos, and even that couldn't get rid of the stupid thing. Finally used some cocktail of malware, virus scan, adware and combofix scans to solve the problem.

    Comodo Security Suite
    MalwareBytes
    CCleaner
    Windows Update
    Common Sense

That's what I've been using and I've been virus free for 6 years. If you're downloading something (especially warez) always read the comments and check how popular the download is.

I use Norton 360, Malwarebytes, Spybot S&D, and Windows Defender and I've never had any problems. Just make sure you are regularly updating your virus protection software and running scans and you'll be safe.

AVG is good But it still have it's limits. I keep it as my first line of defense but don't count on it to much. The web is a large world you can't always count on it's update. You must also research on the latest about security threats. You know I got good site here it's http://www.systemsecurityinstitute.org they provide news and information on the most latest on System security threats like Spyware, Virus, Trojans and Other more. I just subscribed to their Weekly newsletter and I just receive the news on my email. They also provide on how to remove manually or give you a recommended product for the particular malware. So now my last defense is my self. So try it out for your own security.
