Accessing two paypal account from a same IP?

Discussion in 'PayPal' started by icpathi, Feb 7, 2009.

Is it allowed to create and access two paypal account from a same IP? I created a paypal account with a wrong last name and wanted to transfer my money to another account. Is this allowed? Or is there any chance of getting my account frozen?

And... Can I link a same debit card with both these paypal accounts?

    Please reply early..

I access my personal and premier accounts from same IP addresses. No problems for me.

Both accounts are 2-3 years old.

Paypal does care about an account being accessed from different IP's and views them as a hacking attempt.

You can access different paypal accounts from the same IP as long as that same IP was used while creating the account.

i also do have two paypal account, one is business account and other is personal i oftenly transfer my funds from one account to other same day from same IP.

but if you have two personal accounts with same name and same bank details. then it could be problem.

because PayPal will not allow multiple accounts on same user name.

No, you can't - it will say that this card is already in use by another PayPal account !

If you transfer funds between 2 accounts ( with the same name, last name, etc. ) and close the first one with a reason "Duplicate account" - they will not limit your account ( have done it 2 times ).

So you mean, I should transfer my money to the newly created account and close the old account?

No problem at all. PayPal just doesn't like you using the same credit card on multiple accounts. I have an account and my wife has an account and we connect using the same IP.

There is a lot of nonsense said in here.

Paypal DOES CARE about your IP, they even look where the IP is coming from (country)!
Paypal does not allow you to use different accounts on one ip if they do not belong to your identity (read TOS!)
An exception is the 2nd login into a business account but that's obviously not the case.

    To do what you want:
You need a proper 2nd identity, you need a valid looking IP from the correct country.
You need to remove flash cookies and cookies, and a correct user agent.

If you make any error you risk suspending the account/s, limit on them and similar stuff.
If your real information was faked and your account limited you'll not get the money out again.
You'll have to provide a lot of documents in case you'r limited, so try to avoid that.
