Nevermind, just did the work and updated my URL's over to SEO optimized ones now.

 

Hi ObliviousOne, thanks for volunteering your time to offer to look at our websites. I'm about to relaunch my boss's company website as it has a very very poor Page Rank considering the firm is only one of a handful with a web presence in a fairly niche industry. Competitors have sprang up in the last few years, and with their SEO and AdWords campaigns are actually putting the company out of business.

Our site was launched for the first time only 2, maybe 3 years ago and was designed by someone within the company with some knowledge of webdesign. At first, our site was number 1 in Google, but as I expected, it has dropped recently in light of the lack of updates and the use of far too many keywords - 29 in total I think. I am wanting to cut these down to about 15 using only absolutely neccessary phrases.

I've already printed out a copy of the website code and have been omitting and adding code and text where I think it is required, but before I proceed with anything, I would like an objective point of view. If you wouldn't mind taking a look, the URL is http://www.robstock.co.uk.

I've also noticed things like images instead of text being used on the pages for the links which I'm sure only serves to hinder the Googlebot's crawl attempts. I would appreciate any advice you can throw his way as he is getting no sales whatsoever via the website, and without a more proactive web approach there will be no business.

This site looks like its brand new in terms of its SEO. The number of pages indexed in Google needs to increase heavily. I would suggest getting bulk directory submissions and social bookmarking, because this site isnt even in Digg or Delicious. Commenting on some blogs related to this niche, as well as getting some blog post reviews about your site would both help get traffic and better PR. The meta information needs a lot of tweaking, use some of the Adwords google tools to see what keywords and phrases you can possibly rank well for. Theres a lot of work to be done. Good luck!

You should submit to tons of directories and the major social bookmarking sites such as Digg, Delicious, and stumbleupon. That will help you gain PR and eventually get you a better alexa rank too. Good luck~

Your blog is insane, you dont need any help whatsoever bro, your good to go. What I find peculiar though is that you have no pages indexed in google for www.themelib.com but hemelib.com might have a lot.

 

I changed my permalinks on my blog to pretty ones because of this thread and it killed all of my search engine rankings

Guess I should have left well enough alone.

 

Maybe, Google also seems to be doing the Google dance at the moment, that can also be the reason of your unfortunate fall in search engine rankings.
