Dedicated Hosting with 10Mbps Unmetered Port

    Hi,

I am looking for a dedicated server with a 10Mbps Unmetered Port ?
I have seen many different packages from different websites, but can't decide which to choose from them. Visitors will mainly download video files from my website.

    1. Can anyone recommend me a suitable package ?
    2. I liked the Pro and Enterprise packages on Liquidweb (http://www.liquidweb.com/). How is there reputation in this business ?
    3. Also, will 10Mbps unmetered be enough for this type of site ?

    Thanks for any help.

For a video download site 10 mbps line wouldn't be enough, especially if there are several users online.

depends on how many users, how big the files ..etc
I suggest you do start with 10mpbs, but make sure you can easily upgrade if need be.

    Budget is around 500-600 USD.
The average size of the video files will be around 40-50 MB.

How many users can a 10Mbit port support for such a site ?
It would be also great if you can suggest some hardware specs as well.

Mark, I can arrange full-duplex 10mbps server (yes you can push over 6TB/month up+down) for very affordable rates.

Still, I'd like to know your hardware requirements, softwares (control panel if any, etc.)

I know 1k a Month can get you a dedicated 100 mbps port. Which should be able to handle loads of videos. 10mbps isn't enough if you expect some decent traffic

Thanks to everyone for your posts.

I see, seems like its something to worry about.

    @agnivo007
I prefer cPanel. As for hardware specs, I have pretty good idea on Desktop but not much on Server specs, so I could use some suggestion as well based on this specific site.

However, I m not going to start right way as still have lot of things to take care of before I start. At the moment i m looking for some suggestion that would help me to make an estimate of my target budget. But ofcourse thanks for you offer.

I was looking into hivelocity offers, specifically this page,
    http://www.hivelocity.net/Hosting/server_upgrades.php

Take a Look at the Dedicated Bandwidth Options,
    e.g. 10Mbps Unmetered (3,300 GB)

Whats the figure in the brackets (3,300 GB), is that a limit or something ?
    It says Unmetered all right..

    Can someone please explain ?

    Hey,

well the figure in the bracket (3300GB/month) as i understand, is how much you would be able to transfer in a month in theory, " why only 3300GB it says unmetered ?? " well unlimited and unmetered are two different things. i think with dedicated 10mbps line you would be able to do 6000GB approx. but i would recommend you to go for 100mbps line even if it is shared(but that's just me)

    Regards,
    Sher.Khalsa.

try servertag.com they offer 10mbps unmetered lines and you can easily upgrade.

For a video site 10mbps wont be enough if you get a lot of visitors, but i suggest that you start off with something small and then move towards the 100mbps once you start geting a lot of traffic.

also they have a Core 2 Quad Q6600 for $249 month, and it comes with 1500GB bandwidth.
