How to transfer

    I hope this is the right place to put this, if not, please move it. I just received two directories from a friend and i am transferring them to my my server. What is required other then making a new database and changing the config file

    Ask them to backup the current site including database and then just use that

    What do you mean by server? As I may be able to help you out with a better plan and transfer the sites + files free of charge.

    if you are using a paid webhosting service, some companies will do that for you.
    explain to your hosting company and they may do it for you.

    if you want to do it by yourself, and if your db is mysql, google "mysql db backup/restore" and other files i assume you would know how to use ftp.

    I have to do it my self. If im in the cpanel, where would i go to backup the entire website and database together?
