New DoFollow search engine (all sites verified Jan 1st 2009)

Just wanted to give a couple updates.

1) I've added 60 additional sites over the weekend.

2) I approved and more accurately denied all of the submitted blogs. The 12 or so approved blogs will be added by the weekend.

3) Because I wasted so much time reviewing spam sites I've removed submission page for the time being. If you really have a good site to include you can leave it in the thread.

It seems useful... but much better if you sorted it by niche.

 

A directory style is always an option but with a directory you have to classify an entire blog to one category. Many bloggers post on a wide range of topics.

With a search engine you can find specific posts on your topic. In my opinion I'd rather search and find the exact post relevant to my niche vs. a blog posted to a broad category.

Well at least that's my rationale.

 

This was a great idea, I think if you keep updating this thing often, then I think you can get some great success with this.

I have already bookmarked and have even used it to visit a few dofollow websites.

Ghostrider has setup me up with an awesome new design for my site. I highly recommend contacting him for your design needs.

He gave me the new setup a week ago but I've been so wrapped up on improving and planning for the future it's been on the back burner. I've also neglected to give some updates on the site to everyone here too.

I've added 92 new sites and kicked out about half a dozen which switched to nofollow. DoFollow Blog Search.

I only index english blogs. Sorry. However I do have a list of several non-english blogs that I have come across. It's part of my insider's club newsletter. If you wait until tonight (after my day job) I'll post the sites here.

So here's a quick list of sites that available in other languages. I believe most of these have multiple languages available. look for a small side bar section that has flags. Click on the flag and it will translate the site in your desired language.

This is a great post and I will research the directories. I've recently published a hub about Effective Link Building - How to Develop Backlink X-ray Vision

 

It looks like a pretty promising tool, although most of my results were actually no follow. If you can make it so that it only shows 1 result from each domain that would be cool, my front page results were really all from 2 pages hah.

Yes I'm working on an upgraded search engine that does a better job pulling specific posts. Google tends to pull the root blog too often because it ranks the best for most keywords. The next version is going to dive deep and give you specific high ranking posts. I'm debating about limiting results to only one per domain since you can easily scroll over and/or pick the post that you'd most like to comment on.

I also appreciate you giving me the heads up about a nofollow result but if people don't tell me the offending site than it's really pointless. Please post or PM me your search term that gave you issues.

I'm also halfway through a complete review of the indexed sites. I have to say that it's amazing! I've found a list of 15 blogs that are getting kicked out. Some of these are not officially nofollow but I'm making a call that they are so extremely moderated that they may mod even their own mother!

I will also be removing all blogs < PR2 too. I don't have too many right now but I'd rather have quality over quantity.

I've got a lot of other exciting things going on as I'm creating a V2.0 search engine that isn't based on google's custom SE function.... More on that later.
