Ok, so I assume we all know that crappy song from the eighties... 867-5309 Jenny.... yeah sorry for getting it stuck in your head. Anyways, a guy from New York who has this phone number has decided to auction it off on eBay... he started it at $100 and in the past few days it has gotten 87 bids, and is now up to $65,100!! And there are still 6 days and 19 hours to go! Mind blowing that someone would pay this much for a phone number. Here is the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/867-5309-phone-...5|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50
I notice he says it is a DJ company he is selling, and the phone number stays with the company... I am guessing a normal person can't but if it is attached to a business then it can. The guy that owns this must be shitting his pants... it now has 94 bids and is up to $150,100!! Any guesses how high it will go?
*yawn* That's nothing. It's not a phone number, but his business that he's selling. *yawn* And for n00bies that think businesses can sell their phone number...
*yawn* I wish I could say $150K was nothing. Also, notice the with holding of information on the business? I am assuming he could not sell the number unless it was tied to a business so the business was set up to enable him to sell it. *yawn* Im heading to bed now and it is up to $160k... I am guessing it will be $200k come morning.... anyone think he will brake the $1 mil mark? According to a CNN story on the auction the guy who owns the toll free (800, 877) copies of the number has been offered $1mil each for them and he turned them down feeling they were worth more... his feeling just may be proven right in another 6 days and 16 hours.
What a price of phone number. It stands now US $160,300.00 and I guess you are right, it may cross 1 Million mark as still 6 days to go. Let's see what will be last bid.
Not sure what you mean... he checked with his phone company who technically owns the numbers and they gave him the ok to auction it off. As of right now it is up to 123 bids and an astonishing $365,100!
It's ebay, anything that gets big news or notority will get fake bids, and it doesn't take many for the auction to be called off. Thats what I mean.
Ah, gotcha. Now he changed the auction and said the bidders must call him first before bidding ro he will cancel their bids. Also says he has the "best lawyers in the country on my team that will enforce all bids" Will be interesting to see the final result for sure.
oh my...this is pretty stupid for whom they auctioned for the phone number...passing the time, people become weirder and weirder but I guess they are joking, right???
It actually was up to like $425K but Im guessing he cancelled some bids. I still think it will go voer $1,000,000 before its done.
And economists say there is a very severe Recession going on...........Definately Not for this Insane Buyer ............Extremely Lucky Seller
