Paypal Scams [Need suggestions]

Hi guys.

Well I have a serious concern with transaction via Paypal.

I was recently scammed of 100$ after I sold my website to a person here on Dp.
And he claims that he never received the product from me. Though I had handed over the complete site. Well as you all know that Paypal don't support virtual products, I am in a mess. And the worst thing is he has a reputable iTraders.

Now I just need suggestions from you all on how to minimize the risk of being scammed hereafter.

Well it's Paypal's decision now. Waiting for them. Will act according to the decision.
If I win I'll let him go. If not I'll take him for a ride

 

You have to be real carefull is all because I had the same thing happen to me from 2 guys here now one sent me the money and then canceled the payment. I personally am having a hard time trusting people in this forum any more. I don't see the need for people to rip people off that are struggling and having a difficult time surviving as it is.

 

Loads of people did that to me when I sold my e-book. 10 people bought it, of which 8 people chargebacked. Freaking annoying as hell.

 

1. Who scammed you ? We should know it ..
2. Check domain whois, etc. - maybe you can find some information about him

 

next time use escrow. is the best protection for both seller and buyer.

 

Not many people use escrow, paypal is way more popular.

 

U cannot do anything,only option for u to be on safer side is send him everything after 45 days.

 

Everyones impatient, kinda sucks that paypal don't recognize e-products.

 

How can paypal realistically support digital goods? it's not a tangible item that can be tracked. It comes down to he said/she said in the end. And Paypal is smart for not entering into debate on that kind of thing. I don't blame them. Doesn't make it right, or even fair. But that's how they do their business.

I'm sorry you were ripped off. But there are just no guarantees in life, and certainly not online either.

I too have had issues with Paypal in the past. The best practice with them is to only accept direct payment from the paypal account. Not credit card payments and never echeques.

Another thing you could do (in future) is to have your website/article/content notarized/copywritten. Check out copyrightdeposit.com. that way you CAN prove ownership of your digital goods...

 

I don't see the need of ripping people and scam their money or site .
Earning online is not easy .
The people who paly with fire will get burnt.
Thoese cammers will end by being scammed eventually !

Have you received mail from paypal when you sent amount ?
If you have received mail from paypal then send your Transaction ID to admin of paypal.

 

I don't think your problem is with Paypal. It's with the person you're doing business with.

And based on your statement, the only problem is that the other party didn't acknowledge receipt of the digital goods, hence his non-payment. So why not just hand over the site again, since as you've mentioned it's a digital good, and get this thing done and over with? It's just a simple, "Hey I didn't get your goods," of which you should have rectified the situation with, "Aw sorry, here goes."

So where's the dispute here in the first place? If he refused to pay after you re-delivered the product, then that's the time you should take the matters for dispute resolution.

 

maybe you can try burning the files to a cd and mailing that to the client... tangible goods.

 

escrow?????? is it safe than paypal.

 

From now on always send a backup of the site on CD/DVD via certified mail that they have to sign for before you release the details.

That way you can give Paypal the tracking numbers for the CD/DVD and they can't sey they didn't receive the product.
