I see there are a lot of casino sites out there and i'm wondering why are they so many? I guess there's a nice profit too. Could someone explain me where the profit comes from?
It's because the house always wins. They always get a cut, players usually lose money, etc... It's like a real casino.
Well for poker sites there is the rake (each site is different but I think it's 5-10% of the pot up to a certain cap). Then there are tournament entry fees. My friend playing at $0.25/0.50 blinds lost just under $1000 in a month to rake fees. That's a lot of money for such low blinds. Just think, thousands of people playing, with much higher blinds than that... that's a lot of money. Of course other games like Goran said - the house always wins. It's all to do with probabilities in the favor of the house. Over the long run, they are up money.
I was talking about the casino affiliate programs, the sites that have such programs for the viewers...
If you mean affiliate such as poker site. Then the poker site owner will get commission when people sign up for a certain poker site from their affiliate link. Some poker site even paid a percentage of the amount the money that client deposit.
If it where me running a casino site i would personaly just make a handeling fee to cash in/out money into chips. But if i where a more sly buisnesman i would write bots running on my server to win hands over a certain ammount (Would do it carefully though, a full house comming up every time would look bad.) Highly illigal though and just theory.
The reason all casino and poker sites run affiliate schemes is because they need new business in order to survice and they will pay good commissions in order to get you to do their work for them After all, you are cheaper than them employing a new business sales team
