I'm having a hard time deciding weather I should make a blg just about making money online or make a personal blog. Do people have success with making personal blogs? I was thinking about making a personal blog because i have knowledge of different things in different areas and wanted to put everything on one blog. I don't know if this is a good idea or not. or should i just make a separate blg for each thing.. .i'm so stuck in making a decision. I don't know the success of personal blogs. can someone kinda of lead me in the right direction..
I think that generally the most successful blogs are the ones that focus on a specific topic, and have a butt-load of unique content in that specific topic. But who knows, maybe if you get a bunch of unrelated unique articles you can rank high on a bunch of unrelated search terms. Why not make both? (A blog about money and a blog for yourself)
Starting a blog just for fun is out of question. Sounds to me like a waste of time... Monetizing a personal blog could be very difficult so I would go for "make money online" blog.
A focused blog makes me come back more often or subscribe to their RSS. However, If you market via social sites it is much easier to get "friends" to take a quick read at a personal blog vs. a niche blog.
I suggest making the how to make money online blog.. But if you are an excellent writer and have a talent in making people laugh, then do the personal blog, and make it funny.
Do a money making blog and make it personal. I think that this would be very effective way of reaching an audience. check out problogger.com. this is a good example.
Great idea. Make another blog about making money. It's like digging a hole and filling it up? And who will read that blog? And what can you offer that the other 10 billion make money blogs can't?
Why not combine the two. Do a money blog with some personal elements. I wish I would have done that earlier since I juggle several at a time. There is nothing wrong with starting a money blog. If that is what you want to blog about do it.
If you want to make personal blogs, it would be better to make it focus to a specific topic. Like for example, if you are fond with celebrities, it would be nice if you create a blog that tackles about your favorites celebrities. The success of your personal blogs will mainly depend on you on how you provide it with interesting content and how you link build and promote it.

I have seen many folks with personal blogs who made good buks from it. It depends upon the content & the marketing efforts. I would like to suggest you that dont be very specific about the content of your blog, make it general, write quality content including some exposure to the make money online thing, i hope you will get good visitors..cheers
Its always good to go for a particular subject when blogging, for several reasons. You may go for different blogs in your niche you like but that will make your work difficult.
You gotta make a good point on whatever you write about. There was a story on yahoo homepage about a single dad from NYC, if I recall right, he lost his job, started blogging about what he fancies the most, fashion/photography, and ended up being a celebrity, now companies related to fashion industry contact him.
Personal blogs can do very well, but it has to be targeting a specific niche anyway. If you do a personal blog about everything you know.. I'm afraid it's going to fail.. But creating yur own personal blog about money making strategies..that coul make money.. What people are looking for is an individual that is saying real stuff about something they like.. Not just some sales man doing a pitch to get more attention.. So no matter what you write about, be honest & try to HELP people.
I agree - but I'd imagine that with a personal blog, unless you're gonna stick to one area - like sports or travels - that you wouldnt get too much traffic. And most importatnly even if you do get traffic - how are you gonna monetize it?
