You are basing the fact that the consumer is being sent a text message from a legit business. Most internet marketers are sending text messages based on emailing the phone number of the cell phone. This would cause a fee to be charged to the consumer/you.

Sorry I have been incredibly busy and have not had a chance to follow up with topics.

OxygenUser, my 2 cents, You are 100% correct, "legit business" only! Good news is the FCC, FTC and the privacy phone act passed for wireless providers is now seeing real traction with those who collect mobile numbers and send email or text messaging that are unsolicited. Ya_oo provides a service that is very much in question within my mind, they allow for bulk SMS to be sent to people who have not "opted-in" to any mobile text messaging program what so ever, same thing with their email client as well.

Isn't it true that there are always people who wish to cut corners, bend the law or completely ignore it to get ill gotten gains? It does make it harder for "legit businesses" to stand out from the "scammers."

I just consulted with a client who had franchised chains, one of their locations were performing this very task and felt absolutely no reason to stop. When their clients had enough, they said they can just opt-out. We sent declaration of these facts below and will not do business with them for this very reason. Very Visible company by the way, not a hole in the wall.

Here is a couple of very good reasons for anyone to stop it in my mind!
