    it is purely content. i've decided to advertise by posting articles on forums, but I don't know how else I could promote my site

    Just browse through your blog and what i notice is the blog is about the daily life of your.
    So,you can promote it by sending your blog URL to your friend via email.
    Beside that,you also can submit your blog to directory to get more traffic.
